This week is not just purely about sailing it’s about using the wind to take us to places most other tours and flotillas don't go, to experience local living and real cultural experiences, indulging in the local cuisine and having the time of your life. Taste beautiful Mediterranean food, see awe inspiring historical sites, drink cocktails while watching the sun set. There are many opportunities to swim and snorkel over shipwrecks in the Cyclades crystal clear waters and time to explore white sand beaches. Sailing holidays can be as relaxed or as full on as you like - tailored to suit you!

 

Itinerary

Other than start and finish ports (Santorini or Mykonos) we have no fixed itinerary - we literally sail where the wind takes us. We will sail to a new destination every day, often stopping for lunch in a quiet bay or on very calm days in the middle of the ocean. You will have time to swim and cool down in the luscious waters. After a couple hours we will sail to the port for the evening. Your skipper will try inform you on what's good to do on the island and will find small local tavernas to dine in. This means every day can be different from the last, with that sense of adventure in the air, anticipating what is going to happen next.

You will be sailing aboard a beautiful Beneteau Cyclades 50.5 yacht. Measuring in at just over 50 foot in length, there are 5 double cabins with 3 toilets and 4 showers. On-board luxuries include full Air Conditioning in all cabins and entertainment features including PC with WI-FI, TV, DVD and CD player. From our experience though, you may want sound track your adventure, but we doubt you'll be tuning in to the TV when you see the sights we have to show you!

Special Week: Yoga - meditation - retreats

Where better to practice yoga than on a deserted beach, far away from the stresses of modern life and our busy world? This week offers you a complete break away from the mundane 9-5 world that imprisons so many people and enables you to be as one with nature. Your skipper will find the most remote spots possible for you to practise yoga and meditation every day on a beach away from the tourist scene. You will have time to get off the beaten track and see some wonderful islands, along with some must-see popular destinations. We’ll eat fresh food and see amazing sights as well as having time and space for meditation and yoga each day. This week encompasses all the features of the OTBT week, but with yoga and meditation as the focus.

Art week

This consists of 7 days and 7 different destinations. Each day we will set sail for an area of natural beauty and moor up, whether alone in a deserted bay or in a bustling traditional fishing port. We'll meet local artists, visit churches, ancient temples and more. We'll provide opportunities to capture your imagination, to inform your art and fuel your inspiration to take home with you. photo 1-2.JPG We will transfer from the yacht to the shore daily and you will then get the chance to spend a few hours learning or perfecting your painting/drawing skills with the assistance of our art teacher. After your day of sailing and practising your hand at capturing the local beauty we will then go find some fresh local cuisine and enjoy the rest of the evening. Along the way we will get chances to visit some small unearthed galleries and don’t worry - we won’t miss out a cooling dip or two on the way. This week encompasses all the features of the OTBT week, but with the above features as the focus.

Do you like your Greek island adventures 'pumped up' and energised? snorkel Greece We’ll spend time learning to sail, searching for cliffs to dive off and finding wrecks to explore. Have you always wanted to try canoeing or paddle boarding on water that is so crystal clear you may as well be flying? Again, you won't be disappointed! There will be an array of water sport opportunities each day to try something new. Amongst the Islands we can find places to windsurf, kite surf, wakeboard, scuba dive and more. This fun-filled week is for those who love late nights, long days and want their holiday to be an opportunity to really live. No two days will be the same and you'll need to be young in spirit! That said you can do as much or as little as you like. This week encompasses all the features of the OTBT week, but with water sports as the focus. *Please be aware that some water sport excursions will incur additional costs.

History and culture week

This week is for the lovers of Greek history, mythology, religion, and odyssey. Caves Greece We will spend 7 days on sailing routes used for thousands of years that were responsible for making Greece into such a thriving country in ancient times. We will visit temples, churches, historical ports and untouched bays. We will visit vineyards, distilleries, olive groves and traditional local markets. This will be a relaxing week where we can learn a bit more about the local practises, old and new; and enjoy ourselves along the way. We'll show you the wonderful ruins on Delos, the temple of Poseidon, ancient churches and temples of Naxos, the vineyards of Santorini, sample local specialities whether it be citron, ouzo, retzina or local olives and anchovies. Whilst our other weeks will embrace aspects of these destinations, this week is designed for doing it at a pace to really get our teeth into all that Greek history and culture has to offer. This week can encompass as much or as little of the OTBT week, but with the above aspects as the focus.

Cruising the islands is a great way to see new culture, fantastic sights and places out of your imagination. But by doing it on a sailing tour, I think I experience it in a much more unique and personal way. Jimmy was fantastic with the locals and everyone on board. He is not only great to get along with, but he is so so caring. Always making sure everybody is okay, safe, and enjoying their trip. He doesn’t take over - he listens to ideas and makes the trip suitable to what you want to see.

I think seeing the Greek islands on a sailing tour will always be one of my favourite experiences. As someone never experiencing the ocean, apart from paddling in the waves, sailing was a completely comfortable , exciting and unique experience for me. I will one day make it to sail with Jimmy again.

“I was a guest that sailed from Santorini to Mykonos with Jimmy as our skipper. I went with two friends and wasn’t sure what to expect, however upon meeting the other guests and Jimmy, we all felt at ease. The holiday was a perfect mix between seeing the sights, relaxing and heading to local spots to eat and drink. My favourite was getting fresh meat and vegetables from a local butcher on the island of Naxos, and cooking it on an open fire on the beach. We all had the best time, saw the most beautiful things and made the best memories. Highly recommended !!!!!
