About Us

We live in the Virgin Islands all year around, and have been sailing down here for 20 years with many local friends.

The people that have the most fun with us are people that like to get up in the morning, sail, snorkel, and go ashore in the afternoon to explore and socialize.
You may be one of the lucky crew that has Michael Beans, Balvin "The Dancing Machine", Errol, or Elvit decide to get away from the tourists and join us aboard for, lunch, dinner or just to hang with friends!
The Virgin Islands are a fun place with, beautiful soft white beaches, warm clear blue water, friendly locals and lots of music and night life.
Some people say we are the people Jimmy Buffet was talking about we he sang "We are the people your parents warned you about".

Dear Jo and Loren, Thank you, for the fantastic time we had cruising for 10 days on your beautiful boat. The time we spent with you will always be remembered as our best vacation ever. From the first day of our trip, when you met us at the dock, through the last day, when you dropped us off you made us feel warm and welcomed. The islands you call home are breathtaking. The beach's have the whitest, softest sand we have ever stepped in. The water is so warm and clear you can see the tropical fish swimming by while still sitting on your boat (that was awesome).Cane Garden sunset The food that kept coming out of your galley was always delicious. When we booked the charter with you that came with breakfast and lunch we figured we would be having cereal and sandwich's but boy were we wrong. From homemade crepes to your delicious homemade breads you out did yourselves with every meal. After our second day out with you I started sneaking down to the galley when you were preparing a meal to try to steal your recipes. Thank you for putting up with all my questions about your cooking and for teaching me the correct way to use a knife to chop. Leaving Anegada Start of another beautiful day in paradise We always felt we were in safe and capable hands underway and onshore. You fit so many islands into our short time with you without ever feeling rushed. The sailing to a new island was as much fun as being on the new island. Your boat is a thing of beauty and sails like a dream. We were never uncomfortable when sailing with the two of you. You guys really know your stuff!!playing at the Bubbly Pool, Jost Van Dyke Your friendships with the other cruisers and the locals made us feel safe and welcomed on all the islands. It was fun to meet new people and we even formed new friendships ourselves. Jo and Loren we think of you often and can't wait to spend our next vacation with you on Ragamuffin. Give Captain Squeek a belly rub for us. Sincerely, Don and Melissa Barber

Hi Jo & Loren, Here are some memories to share...I've put this picture of the IndiansIndians on the desk top of my computer so I can see it everyday and pretend I'm with you sailing on the Ragamuffin. Good food, good laughs, wonderful swimming and snorkeling - we did finally get the hang of climbing in and out of the dinghy! Thank you for teaching us so much about sailing and sharing so many of your favorite spots with us. One highlight was the stingray jumping up out of the water as we were sailing to Anegada. And how about the dolphin circling the boat so many times! It really was a magical 10 days. Hopefully we'll all return. Take care and best always...till we see you again. What a week! Seven days of pure relaxation, and entertainment. Good food (Jo is a Wonderful cook), good company, new friendships, perfect water, beautiful foliage and amazing underwater life…we could go on and on. Jo and Loren are experienced sailors, casual, fun and knowledgeable hosts. We learned historical information about the islands, current island life happenings and met lots of Jo and Loren’s friends, both island inhabitants and others who now also live on their sailboats. We felt like special family members. The Virgin Islands area is one of the most beautiful in the world. Ron had never sailed before and really enjoyed the experience and opportunity to learn some of what sailing vessels are about. Having been there before, bareboat chartering, I would truly recommend sailing with Jo, Loren and Commodore Squeak to be a truly care free and fun experience. No worries, no planning…they took care of everything…and it was all great. Now, that’s living! Tracy Hoffman and Ron Wiedeman
