Sun Odyssey 49 Sailing Yacht, Comfortable Small-Group Cruises in the Mediterranean

This Sun Odyssey 49 is a solid and comfortable sailing yacht, ideal for small-group cruises and relaxed week-long itineraries in the Mediterranean. Designed for balanced navigation and life on board, the yacht offers generous interior volumes, a bright saloon, and well-organized outdoor spaces that suit both sailing time and quiet moments at anchor.

The layout features multiple private cabins with en-suite bathrooms, making it well suited for guests who value comfort, privacy and a friendly onboard atmosphere. While not a recent model, the yacht is carefully maintained by her skipper-owner and appreciated for her reliable construction, smooth handling and stability across different wind conditions. These characteristics make her a reassuring choice for both first-time sailors and experienced guests.

On deck, the cockpit provides a convivial space for shared meals and evening gatherings, with shaded areas during navigation and a wide bow for sunbathing at anchor. A tender allows easy access to beaches and sheltered coves, while onboard equipment supports a practical and comfortable sailing experience throughout the week.

The yacht is operated with a limited number of guests to ensure space, safety and a more personal rhythm on board. Daily routes are adapted to weather and sea conditions, allowing flexible navigation and the selection of the most enjoyable anchorages rather than fixed distances.

The sailing experience is led by a professional skipper with decades of experience across the Mediterranean and Atlantic. His deep knowledge of local winds, coastlines and anchorages ensures a safe, authentic and well-balanced cruise, combining real sailing with time to swim, explore ashore and enjoy life at sea.

About Us

Reviews

A beautiful, calm and authentic way to explore Sardinia and Corsica. I loved the simplicity of the days: sailing in the morning, swimming in clear water, short walks on the islands, and quiet dinners on board. The boat feels welcoming and spacious for a small group, and the atmosphere was friendly from the start. It felt like traveling with friends rather than being on a tour.

This was my first sailing trip, and I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction. Everything felt easy and natural, from life on board to swimming stops and evenings at anchor. I loved waking up in different bays and having breakfast with the sea all around. The skipper made everyone feel comfortable and explained things clearly without being overwhelming. I would absolutely do this again.

What I appreciated most was the atmosphere on board. Small group, no rush, and a skipper who really knows these waters. The yacht is not brand new, but it’s clearly well cared for and sails beautifully. We felt safe even on windier days, and the crossings between Sardinia and Corsica were a highlight for me. If you’re looking for real sailing rather than just a floating hotel, this is it.
