Our sailing tour starts in Milazzo going to the Aeolian Islands. Are you joining the crew?
Seven little volcanic islands surrounded by a warm and deep sea in an out-of-time atmosphere recalling a history of sea-adventures going back 5000 years: that's how long man's presence on these islands dates back.
Holiday planning offers the chance of an extraordinary range of ideas in a natural and largely untouched environment: the main island Lipari, the green landscapes of Salina, the wild nature of Alicudi and Filicudi, the sophisticated Panarea and the charming Vulcano and Stromboli.
Itinerary
Day1
Milazzo
Check-in from 18:00 in Milazzo. Briefing with crew, onboard accomodation and galley arrangement and weather permitting if we are all in time we set sails at sunset towards the first of the islands; Vulcano. A bay that seems out of time, black beach and crystal clear purple water, a wild nature made of prickly pears, capers and wild goats that love to go down to the water. The island is formed by four volcanoes, of which only one in activity, the last eruption was in 1888, it lasted four years, volcanic manifestations are still presen
Day2
Vulcano > Salina
Awakening and breakfast on Vulcano and morning dedicated to the discovery of Vulcano, bath in the sulphurous springs or walk to Vulcanello. After lunch we set sail for the Faraglioni of Lipari and after a swim and a relaxing break, here we are navigation towards the Verdiante Salina. We arrive for aperitif time in Santa Maria di Salina, where we can choose to enter the port, "the Aeolian Islands Porto", or stay in the harbor at its entrance and get off with the tender for a walk through its characteristic center and why not even for a dinner. Salina as well as for its wines and its Malvasia is also famous for having one of the best restaurants in Aeolian.
Day3
Salina - Filicudi
Beautiful island! In the past it was called Phenicusa that means reach of brackens. It's oval-shape and in the south-east side it extends to Capo Graziano headland, a little peninsula linked to the main Filicudi part by a part of land. The inhabitants (called "Filicudari") are scattered in the three main parts of the island: Filicudi Porto, Valle Chiesa and Pecorini a Mare. There you can also find the very important and characteristic 85-metre rock,the so-called "La canna", which rises in the middle of the sea. Its landscape and its breathtaking sunset seen from "Punta Stimpagnato" are also wonderful... what a mystical experience!
Day4
Filicudi > Stromboli
Breakfast and sailing towards the famous bay of Pollara in Salina, a small hamlet where was shot "Il postino" by Massimo Troisi, from here after lunch we will turn to Stromboli. I arrive in the late afternoon and can organize an excursion to the volcano or admire the eruptions from the sea. After a good dinner in a local tavern, we will spend the night on the island of geckos at anchor. One of the most fascinating events on the island is certainly the Sciara del Fuoco, the lava flow that descends to the sea. The volcanic explosions with a jet of lapillus incandescent to great heights and which illuminate the sky in red, occur all year round and never disappoint anyone.
Day5
Stromboli > Panarea
In the morning have a walk immersed in an absolutely suggestive atmosphere of Stromboli village .. very characteristic. Set sails to Strombolicchio and then sail to Panarea island where we will visit the satellite island of Basiluzzo with its vegetation rich in dwarf palms, Calajunco bay in Panarea with a beautiful natural swimming pool turquoise green, the Lisca Bianca islet with the famous Lovers' cave and Lisca Nera. Stop in the spectacular Milazzese bay and then all ashore to explore the island with its nightlife.
Day6
Panarea > Lipari
Route to Lipari for a relaxing stop in the magnificent White Beach, that is the pumice quarries.Lunch in the bay and in the late afternoon free land to visit the town of Lipari and for who wants the archaeological and volcanological museum.
Day7
Lipari > Milazzo
We will leave early heading south, towards Vulcano, to stop after Punta Gelso. Before returning to Milazzo Friday within 17.00 to fill up the gasoline tank, here we will spend the last evening celebrating together.
Saturday: Milazzo, breakfast and check-out by 8:30 /9:00
