The center of Tuscany is a starting point that allows you to build your cruise as if in front of a beautiful menu on which there are many good dishes to choose from, suitable for all tastes and needs: the family with children has the 'Island of Elba only 14 miles away, and can build its route by composing many tastings, short navigations interspersed with as many stops all in wonderful places. The sports crew can draw on the most demanding dishes, and choose whether to reach Bonifacio or La Maddalena in less than a day of offshore sailing.
What to choose as a dessert?
Itinerary
Day1
Marina di Scarlino - Porto Azzurro
Accommodation and boarding from 5 pm at our base in Marina di Scarlino. Set between the surprising territory of the Maremma and the Tuscan Archipelago, a few miles from the island of Elba, Marina di Scarlino is one of the safest and most protected tourist ports in the Mediterranean. If not too tired we can set sail to nearby Elba, where its closest point is the enchanting Porto Azzurro just 14 miles away.
In this case we can stay at anchor in front of Porto Azzurro, or move to the Gulf of Mola.
Day2
Porto Azzurro - Giglio Island (Campese)
Route to the Giglio Island! Campese is framed by a large rock called "Faraglione" on one side, and by the imposing Medici Tower on the other, which once stood completely isolated on the rocks, but is now connected by a small bridge. Before reaching the island of Giglio, we take a small detour for a dip at the Formiche di Grosseto. The sea below the three islets retains traces of history: in ancient times many ships sank near these rocks, so arm yourself with fins and snorkels!
The sunset from Giglio Campese is unique: get ready with your camera!
Day3
Giglio Island (Campese) - Marina di Campo
Let's go back to the Island of Elba and moor in Marina di Campo, one of the most beautiful bays. Marina di Campo is a small fraction of the municipality of Campo dell’Elba. During the Middle Ages, it had been annexed to the Republic of Pisa. The current inhabited area of Marina di Campo arose over the following centuries near the plain formerly called Maremma dell'Elba due to its peculiarity of wetland. The island of Pianosa is also included in the municipal area. In the westernmost part of the municipality extends the Costa del Sole, which includes some of the most famous, beautiful and popular places on the island.
Day4
Marina di Campo - Island of Capraia
We set sail and after a swim break in the north of Elba, we set sail for Capraia. Rocky and volcanic, it seems lonely and distant but it is an obligatory destination for lovers of sailing and the sea. Punta dello Zenobito is the southernmost point of the island, dominated by a tower. Cala Rossa and the tip of the Zenobito are what remains of an ancient extinct volcano about 5 million years ago. The colors here are magnificent: the blue of the sea, the red of Cala Rossa and the white of the tip of Zenobito.
Day5
Capraia Island - Marciana Marina
After breakfast and a swim again in Capraia, we will set sail towards Procchio, Elba bay perfect for a refreshing dip: the beach stretches for about 1 km, the fine sand and the pristine sea make it a popular destination for many. Then we will turn for the late afternoon towards Marciana Marina, a delightful center of the island of Elba, known for its historic center and its promenade typical of nineteenth-century villages. The beach, very close to both the port and the shops, is very pleasant.
Day6
Marciana Marina - Marina di Scarlino
Without haste we move towards the Marina di Scarlino, but there is always time for a last dive in Cerboli, an enchanting islet in the center of the Gulf of Follonica. You will return to the Marina di Scarlino at 5pm to settle down, take a shower in the well-equipped marina and spend the last evening in one of its typical restaurants.
Day7
Marina di Scarlino
Check out at 09:00H. The evocative landscapes of the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago and its crystalline sea will certainly remain etched in the memories of this sailing holiday.
