Your sailing trip
Come aboard of Dufour 382 and embark on a special sailing adventure across the wonders of the South Sardinia!
CAGLIARI Once in Cagliari, treat yourself to a tour of the city: you reach the walls of Castello and admire Look out for an unmissable sunset: on one side the sea on the other the salt marshes, the Pond Molentargius and the pink of its flamingos. For fresh seafood dinner in the numerous taverns and restaurants in the city, after dinner at one of the many cafes in the city, or if you prefer a walk on the seafront Poetto.
POETTO Is the beach of Cagliari. Eight kilometers of white sand and crystal clear waters, which extend to the town of Quartu, dominated by the promontory of Sella del Diavolo. The name of the beach is thought to derive by an Aragonese tower called “del Poeta.”
MARINA OF CAPITANA The area of Capitana is characterized by small but beautiful beaches, long a dozen meters on average. Here also is located a tourist harbor protected by two piers, one more articulated L-shaped, and the other minor and straight. The village is served by all major services.
MARE PINTAU A landing in the beautiful cove is a must, characterized by sandy bottom, crystal clear water and a contrast of colors and shades so lively that it seems painting (“pintau” in Sardinian, in fact). With the tender it is possible to come down to the pebble beach limits for a refill at the local bar.
TORRE DELLE STELLE Village situated on a promontory along the coastal road from Cagliari to Villasimius, in the south-east of Sardinia. It is the coastal area of the Municipalities of Maracalagonis and Sinnai and is a favorite of people of Cagliari, that here have the most villas. It has two beautiful beaches of fine white sand, “Genn’e Mari” and “Cann’e Sisa”, the waters are moderately deep and the sea of blue-green of a thousand shades. Beautiful night view, with the headland dotted with lights.
CAPO CARBONARA The promontory of Capo Carbonara is the boundary between the “Gulf of the” Angels of Cagliari and the Bay of Villasimius. On both sides of the promontory are several tourist destinations:
– On the west coast: the harbor of Villasimius with the beach, the remains of an ancient fortress with the old Tower, Punta Santo Stefano which is the westernmost offshoot of the promontory and the village of Santa Caterina with its cove;
– On the east coast: the beach of Is traias, the beautiful beach of Porto Giunco, the Notteri pond with pink flamingos, the Tower of Porto Giunco and pebble beach Cava Usai (granite quarry abandoned in the ’50s) . On the promontory there are also an Air Force weather station and a signaling beacon. In front of Capo Carbonara, approximately 800 meters south-east, it is the Cavoli Island. The marine area in front of Capo Carbonara, along with the island of Cavoli and the island of Serpentara, are part of Marine Natural Protected Area Capo Carbonara. (www.ampcapocarbonara.it). In the area underwater fishing is prohibited in all three zones, you can take scuba diving only after obtaining the approval from the marine protected area management. Also in the quadrant A are also prohibited navigation and bathing. it is therefore essential to prevent damage at the delicate local ecosystem and heavy fines, be sure to keep an external route to off-limits areas.
ISLAND OF CAVOLI is a small granite island, included in the Marine Protected Area of Capo Carbonara and topped by an imposing lighthouse. The origin of the name has two current versions: according to old his name, which in Sardinian is isula de is càvarus meaning “island of crabs,” is simply a gross misrepresentation, a translation error by the Italian cartographers. The most modern version is that the name derives from the abundant presence on the island of numerous plants of Wild cabbage or cabbage Sardinia (Brassica insularis), which grow in endemic form. Being now automated operation of the lighthouse, the island is uninhabited and hosts the research center of the Faculty of Biology of Cagliari which uses it for activities of botanical and zoological research. In 1979, in the south, it was laid on the seabed at a depth of about ten meters, a 3.2 meter high granite statue dedicated to the Virgin of the Sea, “the patron saint of the shipwrecked” and protector of sailors, the work of sculptor Pinuccio Sciola. Every year since then, on the third Sunday of July, there is an important festival, with the spectacular procession of boats at sea from the nearby coast of Villasimius, culminating with a blessing and an underwater prayer, and cast into the sea of crowns flowers. Follow celebrations, traditional songs and dances in costume by folkloric and musical groups, and in the night shows of fireworks.
VILLASIMIUS The town and its surroundings are a must-see tourist destination. The wealth of beaches, dotted with vegetation; the nightlife and good food downtown; the possibility of combining at the stop, hiking in the mountainous hinterland forests and numerous sports on land and sea, make Villasimius a stage full of attractiveness. Incoming imposes attention to the presence of shoals and reefs, near the coast. The mooring at the local port is comfortable, well-protected from all winds and discreet, as it posted a couple of kilometers from the town, however, accessible easily.
COSTA REY maritime fraction of Muravera, Costa Rei, also known as Costa Rey is a tourist resort paramount and newly formed, all overlooking a beautiful and unspoilt coastline that offers guests scenarios Caribbean made of crystal clear sea and white sand. Among the seven kilometers of coastline full of kiosks, and intimate coves to be discovered and sublime beaches, detach the beach called Peppino, with the characteristic rock that lies on puddles of warm, clear water that look rather enchanting natural swimming pools. On the horizon looms the island of of Serpentara, easily accessible by guided tour, which for its natural diversity is an integral part of the Marine Park of Capo Carbonara.
