Your sailing trip

Sailing, Yoga and Meditation between the sea and the islands of Sicily

The Aegadian Islands and the Zingaro Natural park are the stunning backdrop that combine a pleasant sailing vacation with the opportunity to devote yourself to holistic practices to relax and rediscover contact with your inner essence.

Holistic Travel offers a Sailing, Yoga and Meditation Cruise between the Egadi islands and the coast of Sicily. A holistic experience for those who love the sea and unspoiled nature. A cruise of immense beauty between breathtaking panoramas and jewels of the Sicilian cultural scenario such as the former Florio factory, the largest museum of the sea in Europe, and the town of San Vito Lo Capo with its culinary tradition.

A week of intense life where you can combine moments of fun on a sailing boat with the opportunity to devote yourself to holistic practices to relax and rediscover contact with your inner essence.

Hatha yoga teacher Lila Marga or Luna, Kundalini Yoga and Gong Therapy Meditation.

The flavors and the amazing natural scenery of San Vito Lo Capo Bay, whose long beach is considered one of the top 5 in Italy, are a 2 days stop along our west Sicily Cruise Itinerary. This cruise starts and ends in Palermo, passing through the windswept and weather-beaten “Lo Zingaro Natural Reserve” that has been shaped by nature to stunning effect. Cliffs drop precipitously into the azure sea, mountainsides rise steeply and delightful pebbly beaches with transparent turquoise water are as lovely as you can find in the Mediterranean. But our tour will also make you uncover the beauty of sailing in the Aegadian Islands.

Favignana, with its small beaches, beautiful unpolluted inlets and crystal clear sea is home to the only profit-making "Tonnara" in the Mediterranean.

Marettimo, the farthest of the Aegadian Islands: green, with tall cliffs that hang down to the intensely turquoise sea, is considered one of the last unpolluted natural paradises, the isle is also famous for its grottos, like the Camel and Thunder caves.

Levanzo, defined as the lonely island, a natural oasis for those who love peacefulness and harmony with nature, whose coasts are characterized by a continuous succession of inlets and bays.

Itinerary

Day 1
Embark in Palermo
Boarding from 15.30 in Palermo. Accommodation in the cabins, briefing on the program of the week and on-board instrumentation, then all to make the galley. If you are ready by 6:30 pm and the weather conditions allow it, you can set sail (about 1 / 2h of navigation) towards Mondello or Terrasini to spend dinner and the night in the harbor under the stars. Evening meditation.
Day 2
San Vito Lo Capo
Breakfast on board and route to San Vito Lo Capo (sailing yoga - about 5 hours), sailing along the coast to the Zingaro Reserve up to San Vito Lo Capo fishing port which has become a pleasant tourist resort with its characteristic long sandy beach ( yoga on the beach). You will go ashore with the tender for an aperitif, dinner or even just a walk in the village. Overnight at anchor in the bay of San Vito Lo Capo.
Day 3
Favignana Island
Yoga during navigation (about 5 hours) towards Favignana, the largest of the islands, with a characteristic butterfly shape. The name derives from the construction stone, called Favignana, which is extracted from the tuff quarries. Once you arrive, you will stop for a dip and relax in Cala Rossa, a symbol of the island, which offers both rocks and sand set in a sea that embraces the shades ranging from blue to light blue. For the evening you will enter the port where moored you can comfortably get off in the main village of the island.
Day 4
Favignana Island – Marettino Island
Yoga on the ground, breakfast and for those who want to visit the Tonnara Florio, the former Florio delle Tonnare factory in Favignana and Formica is an ancient tonnara, one of the largest in the Mediterranean. It is here that Ignazio Florio, at the end of the nineteenth century, invented the revolutionary method of preserving tuna, by building the adjoining plant. We circumnavigate Favignana with a stop in Cala Pozzo or Cala Rotonda. Yoga sailing towards Marettimo (about 3 hours) and arrival in the late afternoon to the most distant of the Egadi islands, Marettimo. Thanks to its remoteness, the rugged nature of the mountain and the low human impact on the environment, it preserves a very precious vegetative and faunal heritage, where rare species almost unique to the Mediterranean have been able to live. We will go down with the tender to visit the village and if you want to dine in its renowned restaurants and taste the pasta with the Egadi lobster. Overnight at anchor in the Bay of Porticciolo di Marettimo.
Day 5
Marettimo Island - Levanzo Island
Marettimo, yoga and breakfast on the ground in the wild island dominated by Monte Falcone is full of beautiful natural caves, famous for hiking along the paths that lead to the ruins of Roman houses and a marine reserve. We set sail for Punta Troia to see the promontory and the recently restored Castle of Punta Troia, and to make a few baths, relax and lunch here, (for those who want, they can arrive from the path from the land to Punta Troia for about two hours) . In the late afternoon, navigation to the small Levanzo, boat yoga (2 hours of sailing). Levanzo (in Sicilian Lèvanzu) is made up of white limestone rocks which have numerous caves. The Greek name of the island was Phorbantia, probably due to the abundant amount of grass on the island. The town is made up of a small group of houses with a small marina, which is about 15 km from Trapani. It has no roadways, apart from a small stretch of paved road that leads to the Faraglione beach. This condition of technological backwardness explains the integrity of its scenic beauty. We will give again in front of the village or in Cala Tramontana and we will go down with the Tender to explore the smallest of the Egadi.
Day 6
Levanzo Island - San vito lo Capo
Yoga awakening in Levanzo and, after a swim in the Grotta del Genovese and a dip in Cala Fredda, in the late afternoon we set sail towards San Vito lo Capo, where we will spend the night in the port or at anchor or in the port depending on weather conditions . The town of San Vito Lo Capo will await you with a refreshing walk of Sicilian life. The heart of the town is Piazza Santuario overlooked by the sanctuary-fortress dedicated to San Vito martyr, patron saint of the town. From here, via Savoia, it quickly reaches the sea, an irresistible attraction for everyone. Via Savoia, very popular especially in the evening, is a destination for shopping and relaxing walks, while in the beach clubs young people meet at sunset for sparkling Happy Hour. Musicians, street artists, stalls full of original artifacts enrich the long summer evenings.
Day 7
Palermo
From San Vito we sail to Punta Raisi, yoga on the boat (about 5 hours) and breakfast, and then stop for a swim and relax on the Isola delle Femmine, which is a small and pretty town that rises not far from Palermo and the its beautiful waterfront. The same name is also taken from a small islet that looks out right in front of it. After lunch we will calmly sail towards Palermo. Arrival in Palermo no earlier than 6pm for late afternoon, yoga on the ground, free evening
