Your sailing trip

Vanuatu Paradise Sailing Adventure

Vanuatu a diverse sailing adventure in nature untouched paradise where people are still very tribal and nothing has changed for hundreds of years!

In this trip you’ll have the chance to see the very beautiful, but hardly visited Banks and Torres Islands in the north of Vanuatu. Become a true explorer with this Expedition and create your own adventure in these undiscovered islands!

The trip starts in Luganville on the island of Espiritu Santo. There we will dive the famous dive sites of Santo, one of these being Million Dollar Point where US forces dumped of most of their surplus WWII material into the ocean. And you can’t miss diving the SS President Coolidge, one of the largest and most accessible shipwrecks in the world. But on land there is also enough to see, such as taking a dip in the refreshing blue swimming holes located in the lush tropical jungle. From Santo we will sail North to the Banks Islands. The Banks have some beautiful volcanic scenery and trhe remains of ancient villages. The rugged Banks are followed by the Torres Islands, where we will find dazzling white beaches and great surf. The Torres Islands also have a strong Polynesian culture, distinguishing them from Melanesian culture present in the rest of Vanuatu. Our trip will finish again in Luganville, Espiritu Santo.

Possible highlights of this trip could include:

- Dive WWII history the SS President Cooldige and Million Dollar Point in Espritu Santo.
- See Siri Falls, Vanuatu’s largest waterfall on located on Gaua.
- Enjoy the ‘Ma’ dance on Moto Lava, a humorous fertility dance.
- Test your nerves by hiking up Mt. Garet, a semi-active volcano right next to Lake Letas, the largest freshwater lake in the South Pacific.
- See the relics of an ancient culture on Gaua; stone platforms, obelisks and monoliths.
- Sail into Spectacular Lorup Bay, created by the partial collapse of the volcano cone forming Ureparapara island.
- Experience traditional Vanuatu culture at the ‘Kastom’ villages on Mota Lava.
- Volcano hiking on Vanua Lava and Mere Lava.
- See the Megapode birds and eggs at Loh and Toga island
- Join the locals for some great surfing in the Torres Islands.
- Hit the beach at night to find coconut crabs in the Torres Islands.

Infinity is a fully-equipped 36 meter sailing expedition vessel on an ongoing voyage since 2003. She has traveled to over 2 dozen countries in both the North and South Pacific and in Southeast Asia and she has sailed amongst icebergs, penguins, and orcas in the Ross Sea, Antarctica, and Patagonia. She is crewed by a multicultural team with a contagiously positive vibe together with Captain Clemens Oestreich, who has skippered vessels for over 100,000 miles during the last 20 years, while raising his 5 children at sea. Infinity is built to be a world-traveling base for adventure and environmental work, forming a beautiful home with unique history and personality. The living quarters are designed with comfortable guest cabins and large communal spaces including an airy saloon, cinema, and extensive deck space. To date, over 200 crew members from all around the world have been part of many extraordinary adventures. They dove with wales and sharks, participated in environmental outreach and even battled deep-sea oil drilling companies. Infinity is open to guests for the first time this year.

Travel organizer tips

How is Infinity Expedition different?
•You are free to create your own extraordinary adventure with Infinity as your base. We support you actively along the way, providing a safe and comfortable home and delicious meals daily.
•This is a community-oriented vessel and home to family. Children are always a part of the fun!
•A wealth of activities are available at no extra cost. Sail and seamanship training, yoga, most shore excursions, beach clean-ups, capoeira, and cooking classes are all part of the journey.
•The multicultural team aboard will involve guest crew with the whole experience of sailing and living at sea. You will be invited and encouraged to snoop around the engine room, explore the deck, raise the sails, and steer the ship. With inclusive service, you are free to immerse into the experience, yet participate at your own pace.
•Important to Infinity is sustainable travel and reduced impact on the planet. The earth is not loot to be plundered but a treasure to be protected so that it can be enjoyed, loved, and cherished by generations to come. The aim is to create a new model of communal living that is not only self-sustaining but actively makes a positive contribution to our planet.
•Massive amounts of rubbish wash up on the shores of the remote islands of the Pacific. On Infinity, crew regularly roll up their sleeves and take away as much trash as can be delivered to appropriate recycling facilities. Reduce, reuse, recycle!
• Crew come together from all over the world to participate in this vibrant community out of love for what they do. Everyone works hard for almost free so you can have an incredible experience at the lowest cost anywhere (please reflect your appreciation with a tip!). To Infinity, these jobs are not jobs and these journeys are not trips: it’s a lifestyle.
