Zanzibar and Pemba seen from the sea are something completely different. This itinerary lets you experience places that you simply can’t reach from land. Waking up in turquoise lagoons, sailing between islands, and ending the day at anchor in total silence was magical. The route feels very natural and well paced, with plenty of time to swim, relax, and enjoy the scenery. One of the most special trips I’ve ever done.

This Zanzibar and Pemba route is ideal if you want a sailing holiday with real character. The sailing distances are just right, and every anchorage feels unique. Clear water, quiet bays, and a strong connection with nature define the whole experience. It’s not a resort-style trip, but a genuine exploration by sea, which is exactly what I was looking for.

I loved how untouched and peaceful this itinerary is. Pemba in particular feels wild and authentic, very different from mainland Zanzibar. Sailing between lagoons, mangroves and small islands makes you feel far away from everything. Life on board is simple and relaxed, and the days flow effortlessly. It’s the perfect trip if you want nature, warm water and a real sense of discovery.
