Antigua to Barbados Sailing Itinerary: A 7-Night Caribbean Cruise Through Les Saintes, Dominica, Martinique, Grenada, Tobago Cays and St. Lucia

The cruise departs from St. John’s in Antigua and follows a southbound route through the Lesser Antilles, finishing in Bridgetown, Barbados. Over seven nights, the itinerary moves between larger volcanic islands, small Caribbean archipelagos and protected anchorages, creating a varied passage through some of the most distinctive sailing areas of the Eastern Caribbean.

The first part of the route crosses from Antigua toward Les Saintes, a compact archipelago south of Guadeloupe where Terre-de-Haut combines a small island settlement with sheltered bays and clear water. From here, navigation continues to Dominica, one of the greenest and most mountainous islands in the region, with dense rainforest, waterfalls and a volcanic interior that contrasts sharply with the smaller islands visited during the cruise.

Further south, the route reaches Martinique for a beach stop before continuing to Grenada. St. George’s brings the journey into a more urban Caribbean setting, with its horseshoe-shaped Carenage, historic waterfront and the island’s long connection with nutmeg, cinnamon and spice production.

The Grenadines form the most marine-focused section of the itinerary. Tobago Cays is a protected archipelago of small, largely undeveloped islands surrounded by shallow tropical waters, offering time for swimming and snorkeling in a setting where the sea becomes the main focus of the day.

The final part of the voyage reaches St. Lucia, with stops at Marigot Bay and Soufrière. Here the coastline becomes steeper and more volcanic, with forested hills, sheltered bays and the dramatic landscape of the island’s southwest coast. From St. Lucia, the ship completes the final passage toward Barbados, arriving in Bridgetown for disembarkation.

Days combine navigation under sail with time ashore, beach stops and opportunities to swim or snorkel. The rhythm changes naturally throughout the week, alternating island exploration with quieter periods at sea and time spent on deck during the passages between the Lesser Antilles.
