A circular cabin charter sailing holiday from Corfu through the northern Ionian Sea, combining the Venetian old town of Corfu, the fishing village of San Stefanos, the harbor towns of Paxos and the colorful waterfront of Parga on the Greek mainland coast.
The cruise departs from Corfu, the northernmost of the main Ionian Islands, and follows a circular route south along the coast and out to Paxos before crossing to the Greek mainland at Parga and returning north to Gouvia Marina at the end of the week. Daily sailing distances stay short, leaving most of each day free for swimming, exploring ashore and time at anchor in sheltered bays.
Corfu opens the week with the most architecturally layered stop on the route. The old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, carries the influence of the Venetian, French and British periods that shaped the island in succession, with two Venetian fortresses, a French-style arcade along the main square and a network of narrow medieval lanes behind the waterfront. The rest of the island's coastline, from the quiet bay of San Stefanos to the southern channels, reveals a greener and more rural character than most of the Ionian.
The crossing to Paxos brings a shift in scale. The island is small and densely covered in olive groves, with three distinct harbor villages, Lakka, Gaios and Mongonissi, each with a different atmosphere. Lakka is the most sheltered bay, surrounded by trees and well suited to paddleboarding and swimming. Gaios is the liveliest, with a wider selection of shops and restaurants along a harbor animated by both fishing boats and sailing yachts. Mongonissi, at the southern tip, is quieter and more secluded, known for its clear water and a more local rhythm.
Parga, across the open channel on the mainland coast, adds a different dimension to the week. The town is built around a sheltered bay backed by a Venetian castle on the headland, with colorful houses, beach bars and a waterfront that fills up in the evenings. The Blue Caves near Paxos, best explored by tender or by swimming into the cavities in the rock, provide one of the most visually striking moments of the whole route.
Days follow a consistent rhythm of morning departures after breakfast, a swim stop during or after the crossing, afternoon arrivals with time to explore and evenings spent in waterfront tavernas or on deck at anchor.
Itinerary
Day1
Boarding in Corfu and First Sail to San Stefanos
Boarding takes place at the marina in Corfu, with time before check-in to explore Corfu Town, including the two Venetian fortresses, the French-style arcade known as the Liston and the narrow lanes of the medieval Campiello quarter. In the afternoon, the boat sails to San Stefanos, a small fishing bay on the northeastern coast of Corfu, with time for swimming and paddleboarding before a first group dinner ashore at a local taverna in the village.
Day2
Plataria
The morning is spent practicing sailing and exploring the surrounding bays before the boat heads toward Plataria, a small traditional harbor town on the Greek mainland coast across the channel from Corfu. The day includes time in the crystal blue water of the surrounding bays, with the evening spent at the taverna-lined harbor enjoying a Greek dinner ashore.
Day3
Lakka
The route continues south to Paxos, arriving at Lakka Bay, a sheltered inlet enclosed by olive trees and pine forest on the northern tip of the island. The bay is well suited to swimming and paddleboarding in calm, clear water, with the village behind the harbor offering narrow streets, whitewashed houses and a handful of waterfront tavernas for the evening.
Day4
Gaios
A short sail leads to Gaios, the largest and most animated of Paxos's three harbor villages, with a wider selection of shops and the freshest seafood in the island's restaurants along the waterfront. The afternoon includes time at a secluded beach before the evening in the town, with the harbor busy but genuinely convivial.
Day5
Parga
The route crosses to the mainland coast and the town of Parga, set around a sheltered bay below a Venetian castle on the headland. Colorful houses, boutique shops and a string of beach bars define the waterfront, with the evening left free to experience the Greek hospitality that the town is known for along the northern Ionian coast.
Day6
Mongonissi
An excursion to the Blue Caves near Paxos opens a day that combines one of the more visually striking stops on the route with a slower afternoon. Mongonissi, a quiet bay on the southern tip of Paxos, provides the anchorage for the final evening in the islands, with a local restaurant ashore and, if conditions allow, traditional music and dancing as the evening develops.
Day7
Gouvia, Corfu
The final day sails back north toward Corfu, with swim stops along the way before arriving at Gouvia Marina in the mid-afternoon. Time ashore allows for a final walk through Corfu Town or last-minute souvenir shopping before the farewell dinner on board. Disembarkation takes place the following morning after breakfast.

Yacht - Roulette
Our Economy Yachts are perfect for the more budget-conscious traveller. They feature a swimming platform, sunbathing deck and a dining area and kitchen where you can prepare your own meals.
Example: The Bavaria Cruiser 46 Sailing Yacht is the largest in her size. She has the largest cockpit area, providing you with the most room possible to relax outdoors. There is ample deck space for laying out and enjoying the sun, with an unfolding transom, which provides a large swimming platform for getting into and out of the water.
CABIN SIZES: Booking your cabin is on a 'first come, first served' basis. There are 2 cabin types available: Aft cabin: is at the back of the boat with the most room, however you will share a bathroom with the 2nd aft cabin. Forward cabin: is at the front of the boat, and smaller due to the shape of the boat's hull. You have a private bathroom and shower in each of these. When in port, you will have access to the marina facilities and we ask that you don't use the boat's facilities while in dock.

What to pack for a sailing holiday?
Pack smart for your yacht charter: choose a soft bag instead of a hard suitcase, bring lightweight layers, reef-safe sunscreen, and non-slip shoes for onboard use. A couple of swimsuits and motion sickness remedies can also make a big difference. Each boat has limited storage, so pack light, but wisely! Need help building the perfect list? What's a Typical Day Like on a Yacht Charter?
Start your day with a swim in a quiet bay, sail to hidden beaches or seaside villages, and enjoy a slow lunch on deck. Afternoons mean snorkeling, sunbathing, or exploring ashore. As the sun sets, your boat anchors in a scenic cove or near a harbor, ready for a relaxed dinner and a night under the stars. Curious about the full experience? Who Handles Cooking and Cleaning on a Yacht Charter?
On skipper-only charters, guests usually share cooking and cleaning duties, think salads, pasta, and good teamwork. If there's a hostess, light meals and tidying are included, but it's still a casual, collaborative vibe. On fully crewed yachts, you'll enjoy full service with a chef and crew managing everything. What Happens in Case of Bad Weather During a Sailing Holiday?
Summer sailing holidays rarely face major weather issues, but when the sea gets rough, skippers adjust the route for your safety. Expect protected bays, marina stops, or a change in plan. These moments often lead to unexpected gems: local towns to explore, time to relax on board, or cozy dinners ashore. Curious about how crews handle these changes?
