A circular sailing holiday from Dubrovnik through the islands of southern Dalmatia, combining the Elaphiti archipelago, Mljet National Park, the medieval town of Korčula and the sheltered bays of the Pelješac peninsula.
The cruise departs from ACI Marina Dubrovnik in Komolac and follows a circular route through the southern Dalmatian archipelago, returning to the same base at the end of the week. The sailing area covers some of the most historically and naturally concentrated waters on the entire Adriatic coast, within a compact radius that allows comfortable daily legs without long open water passages.
Navigation stays largely coastal and sheltered, moving between the Elaphiti Islands just offshore from Dubrovnik, the protected bays of Mljet, the Korčula archipelago and the Pelješac peninsula before turning back north toward the city. Most crossings take between one and three hours, leaving most of each day free for swimming, exploring ashore or simply being at anchor.
The islands along the route carry distinct characters. The Elaphiti Islands of Lopud and Šipan are the closest to Dubrovnik and among the quietest, with car-free lanes, sandy beaches and a pace of life that feels genuinely unhurried. Mljet, one of the greenest islands in the Adriatic, protects its western third as a national park with two interconnected saltwater lakes and dense pine forest reaching the shoreline. Korčula, built on a small oval peninsula enclosed by medieval walls, is the most architecturally concentrated stop of the week, known for its wine culture and its claim as the birthplace of Marco Polo.
The Pelješac peninsula adds a mainland counterpoint to the island stops, with steep vineyards above the water producing some of the best-regarded red wines in Croatia, and Ston below with its extraordinary double wall system and oyster farms directly in the bay. The final day returns to Dubrovnik from the sea, with the city walls visible from the water before the last anchorage off the island of Lokrum.
Days generally combine a morning departure after breakfast, a swim stop during or after the crossing, an afternoon arrival with time to explore ashore, and evenings spent in local restaurants or on board depending on the stop.
Itinerary
Day1
Boarding in Dubrovnik
Boarding takes place at ACI Marina Dubrovnik in Komolac from 5pm. After settling into the cabins and a welcome briefing with the crew, the first short sail heads toward the bay of Zaton on the mainland coast, just northwest of Dubrovnik, for the first night at anchor. Those who arrive early can spend the afternoon visiting the old town of Dubrovnik before boarding.
Day2
Elaphiti Islands, Lopud and Šipan
After breakfast, sail to the island of Lopud and the beach of Šunj on the southern coast, one of the few sandy beaches in the Dalmatian archipelago, well suited to a morning swim. In the afternoon, continue to Šipan and the bay of Sudurad, where the boat moors at a waterfront restaurant for the night. Dinner is ashore.
Day3
Mljet National Park, Polače
After a morning swim off Šipan, sail north to Mljet and the bay of Polače, the gateway to the national park. The afternoon can be spent exploring the park on foot or by bicycle along the lakeside paths, with the option of taking the short ferry crossing to the twelfth-century Benedictine monastery on the small island in the center of Veliko Jezero. Dinner is ashore at the restaurant where the boat is moored.
Day4
Badija Island and Korčula
After breakfast in Polače, sail to Badija, a small island in the Korčula archipelago known for its clear water and a population of fallow deer that have roamed freely since 1958, often gathering on the beach as boats arrive. After lunch, continue to Korčula Town for a free evening in the old city, with the option of a wine tasting at a local winery.
Day5
Mljet, Okuklje
After breakfast in Korčula, sail back toward the southern side of Mljet with a lunch and swimming stop in Vučine Bay on the Pelješac peninsula along the way. The afternoon brings arrival in Okuklje, a small fishing village on the island's eastern coast, where the boat moors at a waterfront restaurant for the night.
Day6
Ston
After breakfast in Okuklje and a final swim in the bay, a short sail leads to Prozura Bay for a swimming stop before continuing to Ston, known for its well-preserved medieval walls, salt pans and oyster farms directly in the harbor. The afternoon and evening are free to explore the town and eat at one of the waterfront restaurants.
Day7
Return to Dubrovnik and Disembarkation
After breakfast in Ston, the final sail passes the island of Olipa for a last swimming stop before the return crossing to ACI Marina Dubrovnik. The final night is spent on board in the marina. Disembarkation takes place the following morning by 9am.
