The cruise departs from Marina Bas du Fort in Pointe-à-Pitre, the main sailing base in Guadeloupe, and follows a circular route through the outer islands of the archipelago before returning to the same port at the end of the week. Guadeloupe sits in the eastern Caribbean between Antigua and Dominica, and the islands surrounding the main butterfly-shaped landmass offer a concentration of distinct landscapes, marine environments and Creole culture within a compact and navigable sailing area.
Navigation alternates between longer crossings to the outer islands, the three-hour passage to Marie-Galante and the full-day leg to Pigeon Island among the longest of the week, and shorter hops between anchorages on the return. The pace leaves enough time each day for swimming, snorkeling and exploring ashore, with most nights spent at anchor in sheltered bays rather than in a marina.
The islands along the route carry distinct characters shaped by their geography and history. Marie-Galante, the largest outer island, is defined by its flat landscape of sugar cane plantations, old stone windmills and rum distilleries still producing agricole rum the traditional way. Petite Terre, a protected national natural reserve, is largely uninhabited and home to sea turtles, iguanas and a lighthouse with a small biodiversity museum. Pigeon Island, on the western coast of Basse-Terre, sits within the Jacques Cousteau Underwater Reserve, one of the most celebrated diving and snorkeling destinations in the Caribbean, with coral gardens, parrotfish and stingrays visible in clear warm water.
Les Saintes, the final island stop before the return, is a small archipelago southeast of Guadeloupe with one of the most beautiful natural bays in the Caribbean. Terre-de-Haut, the main inhabited island, has colorful colonial houses, Fort Napoléon above the bay and a pace of life that feels genuinely unhurried. Pain de Sucre, a sheltered cove just off the main harbor, closes the week with a final snorkeling session in clear water above coral gardens.
Days generally begin with breakfast at anchor, a morning sail to the next destination and an afternoon split between time in the water and exploring ashore, with evenings spent on board under an open Caribbean sky.

Day1
Boarding in Pointe-à-Pitre and First Sail to Anse Canot, Marie-Galante
Boarding takes place at Marina Bas du Fort in Pointe-à-Pitre, with time to settle into the cabins and meet the crew before setting sail toward Marie-Galante, known locally as the island of a hundred mills. The crossing of around three hours leads to Anse Canot, a quiet anchorage on the northern coast with clear water, for the first evening at anchor.

Marie-Galante to Saint Louis
After breakfast at anchor in Anse Canot, the morning is free to explore the island's colonial heritage, with the option of a guided tour through sugar cane plantations, old windmills and rum distilleries producing agricole rum in the traditional way. In the afternoon, the boat sails to Saint Louis on the western coast for a swim in turquoise water and time ashore near the harbor. The night is spent at anchor in a sheltered bay.
Day3
Petite Terre Natural Reserve
A sail to Petite Terre leads to one of the most ecologically protected stops of the week, a small reserve of two low islets with a lighthouse, a biodiversity museum and no permanent population. Sea turtles and iguanas are commonly seen near the shore. The day is given over to snorkeling, a nature walk along the educational trail and quiet time at anchor. Lunch, dinner and the night are spent on board.

Pigeon Islands and the Cousteau Reserve
A longer crossing of around eight hours heads toward Pigeon Islands on the western coast of Basse-Terre, within the Jacques Cousteau Underwater Reserve. The reserve is named after the oceanographer who brought international attention to its coral gardens, and the snorkeling and diving conditions here are among the best in the Caribbean. Local guides are available for organized snorkeling trails and scuba dives. The evening and night are spent at anchor near the islands.

Bouillante to Les Saintes
The morning is spent near Bouillante, a small village on the western coast of Basse-Terre, with further snorkeling or time to relax on board before the sail south toward the Les Saintes archipelago. The option of a 4x4 excursion into the rainforest of Basse-Terre is available on request from Bouillante. The afternoon sailing leg of around three hours leads to the first anchorage near Les Saintes.
Day6
Terre-de-Haut, Les Saintes
After breakfast, the boat crosses to Terre-de-Haut Bay, one of the most striking natural harbors in the Caribbean, surrounded by green volcanic hills and lined with colorful colonial houses. Time ashore allows for a visit to Fort Napoléon on the headland above the bay, with panoramic views and a museum of local and naval history. In the afternoon, sail around four hours to Îlet Gosier, a small island with a lighthouse on the northern coast of Grande-Terre, for the overnight anchorage.
Day7
Pain de Sucre and Return to Pointe-à-Pitre
A short thirty-minute sail leads to Pain de Sucre, a sheltered cove adjacent to Terre-de-Haut known for its coral gardens and clear water, well suited to a final morning snorkeling session. After lunch on board, the boat returns to Îlet Gosier to explore the local market before the final sail back to Marina Bas du Fort. Disembarkation takes place the following morning by 10am.
