A circular cabin charter sailing holiday from Ibiza Marina exploring the hidden coves of the western coastline, the landmark of Es Vedrà, the turquoise beaches of Formentera and the anchorage at Espalmador.
The cruise departs from Ibiza Marina and follows a circular route along the island's coastline before crossing to Formentera and returning to the starting point at the end of the week. Daily sailing stays close to shore, with most passages covering ten to twenty nautical miles and leaving the bulk of each day free for swimming, relaxing at anchor and exploring ashore.
Ibiza's coastline alternates between sheltered coves and more dramatic coastal landmarks. The natural reserve of Espalmador, accessible only by boat between Ibiza and Formentera, offers white sand and shallow turquoise water away from the main beach crowds. The western coast, from Cala Tarida to Cala d'Hort and Cala Comte, carries some of the clearest water on the island and a sequence of views that work best seen from the sea.
Es Vedrà, the uninhabited limestone island rising from the water off Ibiza's southwestern coast, is the most visually striking single landmark of the week, best observed in the late afternoon from the water as the light changes on the rock face.
Formentera brings a marked shift in atmosphere. The island is known above all for the quality of its water, particularly around Ses Illetes, where the shallow posidonia lagoon produces a pale turquoise color that holds clearly even in full sun. Cala Saona on the western coast adds a quieter stop framed by red limestone cliffs, while the eastern side of the island around Es Caló and Es Pujols provides a livelier and more social character before the return to Ibiza.
Days follow a consistent rhythm of morning departures after breakfast, a swim stop during or after each crossing, afternoon arrival and evenings spent either in a harbor taverna or on deck at anchor depending on the stop.
Itinerary
Day1
Boarding in Ibiza Marina and Old Town Evening
Boarding takes place from 6pm at Ibiza Marina, with a welcome drink and a short introduction to the crew and life on board. The first evening is spent in port, with the UNESCO-listed old town of Dalt Vila a short walk from the marina, and a wide choice of restaurants and bars in the harbor area for dinner ashore.
Day2
Ibiza to Espalmador
After breakfast and a crew briefing, the boat sets sail around midday toward Espalmador, a protected natural reserve of around ten nautical miles from Ibiza, accessible only by boat, with white sand beaches and shallow turquoise water. The afternoon is left entirely for swimming, walking along the beach and relaxing at anchor, with the evening spent watching the sunset from the boat.
Day3
Es Vedrà and Cala Comte
The route sails west along Ibiza's coastline toward the natural reserve around Es Vedrà, the dramatic limestone island rising from the sea off the southwest coast, well suited to a swim stop in the clear water at its base. Navigation continues north toward Cala Comte, one of the most celebrated beaches on the island, with panoramic views across the nearby islets and some of the finest afternoon light of the week.
Day4
Southern Ibiza Coast to Ses Illetes, Formentera
A morning swim opens the day before the boat sails south along the Ibiza coastline, passing Cala Tarida, Cala d'Hort and Porroig, before crossing to Formentera. Arrival is planned at Ses Illetes, the most celebrated anchorage in the Balearics, where a narrow strip of white sand separates calm lagoon water from the open sea, with posidonia seagrass beds below the hull giving the surrounding water its characteristic pale turquoise color. The evening is spent at anchor with dinner on board or ashore.
Day5
Cala Saona, Formentera
The route continues along Formentera's western coast to Cala Saona, a sheltered bay framed by red limestone cliffs and clear water, among the most scenic anchorages on the island. The day is given over to swimming, snorkeling and relaxing at anchor, with a short walk along the cliffs available for those who want to explore the coastline on foot. Sunset here is one of the highlights of the week.
Day6
Es Caló, Es Pujols and the Eastern Coast of Formentera
A full sailing day follows the eastern coast of Formentera, with stops at the small traditional harbor of Es Caló and time in sheltered bays depending on conditions. The afternoon brings arrival near Es Pujols, the liveliest stretch of coast on the island, with restaurants, bars and beach clubs within easy reach from the anchorage for those who want a more social final evening on the island. The night is spent at anchor near Es Pujols. The final sail returns from Formentera to Ibiza Marina, with arrival scheduled around 3pm. The final night is spent on board. Disembarkation takes place the following morning. Guests with later flights may request an additional night on board at an extra cost, subject to availability, with disembarkation in that case by 8am the following morning.

Yacht - Jeanneau 53
Jeanneau 53 looks really extraordinary and is built to sail fast. (refit 2021)
Jeanneau 53 is a stylish-looking sailing yacht (refit 2018), representing Jeanneau’s new yacht line of larger cruisers and replaces the 54DS, which sold over 400 copies worldwide. Like the DS model, this new 53 features a blister-type coach roof, but with a much lower, sleeker profile. With its large rig, easily driven hull and spacious interior, it should appeal to many cruising sailors.
The deck is easy to get around and affords good visibility, while still providing enough headroom below. The saloon is light and airy with full-length settees on both sides and a big dinette table with folding leaves to starboard.
This large, comfortable cruiser can be configured just about any way you like and is surprisingly affordable. The discrete modern styling will turn a few heads in the harbor, and the long hull will turn miles easily out in open water. The spacious cockpit should work well both under sail and when entertaining.
Boat regularly registered as a Charter in Spain, a guarantee of comfort and carefree holidays. Very comfortable and spacious, it was born for charter; very large cockpit for 14 people. It has 5 cabins, 3 bathrooms and a crew cabin; refrigerator and cold room. It is very fast and easy to manage. Excellent for a holiday with friends!
What to pack for a sailing holiday?
Pack smart for your yacht charter: choose a soft bag instead of a hard suitcase, bring lightweight layers, reef-safe sunscreen, and non-slip shoes for onboard use. A couple of swimsuits and motion sickness remedies can also make a big difference. Each boat has limited storage, so pack light, but wisely! Need help building the perfect list? What’s a Typical Day Like on a Yacht Charter?
Start your day with a swim in a quiet bay, sail to hidden beaches or seaside villages, and enjoy a slow lunch on deck. Afternoons mean snorkeling, sunbathing, or exploring ashore. As the sun sets, your boat anchors in a scenic cove or near a harbor, ready for a relaxed dinner and a night under the stars. Curious about the full experience? Who Handles Cooking and Cleaning on a Yacht Charter?
On skipper-only charters, guests usually share cooking and cleaning duties, think salads, pasta, and good teamwork. If there's a hostess, light meals and tidying are included, but it's still a casual, collaborative vibe. On fully crewed yachts, you’ll enjoy full service with a chef and crew managing everything. What Happens in Case of Bad Weather During a Sailing Holiday?
Summer sailing holidays rarely face major weather issues, but when the sea gets rough, skippers adjust the route for your safety. Expect protected bays, marina stops, or a change in plan. These moments often lead to unexpected gems: local towns to explore, time to relax on board, or cozy dinners ashore. Curious about how crews handle these changes?
