A one week catamaran holiday from Palma along the southwest coast of Mallorca, with swim stops at the Malgrats Islands, Port d’Andratx, Sa Dragonera and Camp de Mar.
This one week cruise starts from Palma, the capital of Mallorca, and explores the southwest coast of the island between the Bay of Palma, the Malgrats Islands, Port d’Andratx and the natural park of Sa Dragonera. The route follows the coast of Calvià and Andratx in a looping itinerary, with short passages and plenty of time at anchor.
Distances are short, usually between five and fifteen nautical miles a day, which suits families, groups of friends and crews who prefer swimming and relaxing over long sailing days. The wide deck and the stable platform of a catamaran make every stop easy to enjoy.
The scenery alternates between white limestone coves, pine forests that reach the water and the dramatic profile of Sa Dragonera. Anchorages are clear and sandy in typical summer conditions, and the Malgrats reserve offers some of the best snorkelling on the island.
Ashore, the route links the old town of Palma and its cathedral with the elegant harbour of Port d’Andratx, the quiet village of Sant Elm and the beaches of Camp de Mar and Santa Ponça, with restaurants serving fresh fish and Mallorcan specialities.
On board the day follows an easy rhythm: breakfast on deck, a short morning sail, a swim before lunch and a quiet evening under the stars. It is a holiday for friends or family who enjoy being the crew of their own boat while keeping the schedule simple.
Itinerary
Day1
Boarding in Palma and Cala Portals Vells
Boarding takes place at the marina in the heart of Palma, facing the cathedral and the old town. After settling into the cabins and a safety briefing, the catamaran leaves the harbour and crosses the Bay of Palma to Cala Portals Vells, a small cove of white rock and turquoise water, for a swim and a first dinner on board.
Day2
Cala Portals Vells to the Malgrats Islands
A short sail along the coast of Calvià leads to the Malgrats, two small islands protected as a marine reserve. The clear shallow water and the rocky seabed make this one of the best snorkelling spots of the western coast, with a quiet anchorage for the night.
Day3
Malgrats to Port d’Andratx
The route continues west to Port d’Andratx, a sheltered harbour surrounded by pine covered hills and lined with restaurants. There is time to walk along the waterfront and see the yachts and the fishing boats in the evening light.
Day4
Sa Dragonera and Sant Elm
A short crossing brings the boat to Sa Dragonera, the island natural park at the western tip of Mallorca. The catamaran anchors in the channel facing Sant Elm, with time to swim under the cliffs and enjoy the small seafront village.
Day5
Sant Elm to Camp de Mar
The boat sails back along the coast to Camp de Mar, a small bay with golden sand and a rocky islet linked to the beach by a footbridge. Calm water and shallow sandy bottom make it a perfect place for a slow afternoon at anchor.
Day6
Camp de Mar to Santa Ponça
The route follows the coast of Calvià toward Santa Ponça, a wide bay surrounded by pines where Jaume I landed in 1229. The anchorage is sheltered and ideal for a last swim and a dinner on board.
Day7
Back to Palma and Disembarkation
The final sail runs along the coast and across the Bay of Palma, with the skyline of the cathedral growing closer. The boat returns to the base in Palma on Friday afternoon, the last night is spent on board and disembarkation takes place the following morning.
Important Note This itinerary may vary depending on weather conditions, sea state and operational requirements. The person in charge of the boat may adjust the route, anchorages and overnight stops, following the briefing at the base, to ensure safety and comfort.

What to pack for a sailing holiday?
Pack smart for your yacht charter: choose a soft bag instead of a hard suitcase, bring lightweight layers, reef-safe sunscreen, and non-slip shoes for onboard use. A couple of swimsuits and motion sickness remedies can also make a big difference. Each boat has limited storage, so pack light, but wisely! Need help building the perfect list? What’s a Typical Day Like on a Yacht Charter?
Start your day with a swim in a quiet bay, sail to hidden beaches or seaside villages, and enjoy a slow lunch on deck. Afternoons mean snorkeling, sunbathing, or exploring ashore. As the sun sets, your boat anchors in a scenic cove or near a harbor, ready for a relaxed dinner and a night under the stars. Curious about the full experience? What Happens in Case of Bad Weather During a Sailing Holiday?
Summer sailing holidays rarely face major weather issues, but when the sea gets rough, skippers adjust the route for your safety. Expect protected bays, marina stops, or a change in plan. These moments often lead to unexpected gems: local towns to explore, time to relax on board, or cozy dinners ashore. Curious about how crews handle these changes?
