Seychelles Sailing Cabin Charter from Mahé: A 7-Day Cruise Through Curieuse, La Digue, Praslin and Silhouette

This is an active, hands-on sailing retreat, not a fully serviced luxury cruise. Expect a small group of like-minded travellers living and sailing together on a new Lagoon 42 catamaran, rather than a big commercial charter with constant staff attention.

There's no hostess or dedicated cook on board, just a licensed skipper who handles the sailing and also leads the daily practices. Guests take part in the running of the boat and life aboard together, including cooking meals as a group with fresh local seafood in the onboard kitchen (equipped with oven, fridge and freezer).

Each day mixes sailing with grounding practices: gentle breathing exercises and yoga in the morning, sailing and island exploration through the day (think snorkelling with turtles, hikes, encounters with giant tortoises), and in the evening cooking together or dinner ashore, followed by an open sharing circle under the stars. No sailing experience or particular fitness level is required, and how involved you get with the sailing itself is entirely up to you.

Cabins have their own bathroom (4 cabins, 4 bathrooms on board), plus a large sun deck, spacious cockpit and even space to sleep under the stars on the upper deck if you fancy it. Basic safety equipment (life jackets, radio, first aid) is on board throughout.

Worth knowing: this is genuinely a digital-detox-friendly kind of week, coastal internet is fairly stable most of the time, but many guests actually treat it as a welcome break from being online.

If you're after a polished, fully catered cruise with round-the-clock service, this isn't that. If you want something more genuine, active and communal, centred on the sea, a small group and real disconnection from routine, this fits well.
