Your sailing trip
Sail aboard a traditional wooden gulet from Kelibia around the Cap Bon peninsula, with stops at the nature reserve islands of Zembra and Zembretta, the coastal towns of Nabeul and Hammamet, and the harbors of Sousse or Monastir.
The cruise departs from Kelibia, on the northeastern coast of Tunisia, and follows the Cap Bon peninsula south along the Mediterranean coastline, with the route adjusted toward either Sousse or Monastir later in the week depending on conditions at sea.
Sailing here stays close to the coast for most of the route, with a short crossing out to the islands of Zembra and Zembretta near the tip of Cap Bon, followed by longer coastal legs further south towards Nabeul, Hammamet and the Sahel coast.
Zembra and Zembretta sit within a protected marine reserve, known for clear water and a largely undisturbed coastline. Cap Bon itself is defined by sandstone cliffs and quiet fishing towns, in contrast to the more developed beaches and resorts further south around Hammamet and the Sahel.
Each stop carries its own character, from the quieter fishing town atmosphere around Kelibia and Al Haouaria, to Nabeul's pottery and ceramic traditions, the old medina and beaches of Hammamet, and the historic ports of Sousse and Monastir further down the coast.
Most days combine a stretch of coastal sailing with time anchored for swimming, followed by a visit ashore to a town or harbor, with evenings spent either at anchor in a quiet bay or moored close to a port.

Onboard life has the unhurried feel of traditional Mediterranean sailing, with wide wooden decks built for moving freely between sun and shade.
The main living area is a wide saloon with a communal dining table, a separate relaxing corner and an equipped galley where meals are prepared fresh each day, with wood interiors and natural fabrics giving the space a warm, homely feel.
Generous wooden decks and sundeck areas allow guests to spread out without feeling crowded, with plenty of room to move around the boat at anchor or underway.
Built entirely in wood with a solid, traditional structure, the boat offers notably stable sailing compared to lighter modern designs, with little of the rolling motion that can make some boats less comfortable at anchor.

Pack smart for your yacht charter: choose a soft bag instead of a hard suitcase, bring lightweight layers, reef-safe sunscreen, and non-slip shoes for onboard use. A couple of swimsuits and motion sickness remedies can also make a big difference. Each boat has limited storage, so pack light, but wisely! Need help building the perfect list? Start your day with a swim in a quiet bay, sail to hidden beaches or seaside villages, and enjoy a slow lunch on deck. Afternoons mean snorkeling, sunbathing, or exploring ashore. As the sun sets, your boat anchors in a scenic cove or near a harbor, ready for a relaxed dinner and a night under the stars. Curious about the full experience? Discover more in our guide: What's a typical day like on a sailing holiday?
On skipper-only charters, guests usually share cooking and cleaning duties, think salads, pasta, and good teamwork. If there's a hostess, light meals and tidying are included, but it's still a casual, collaborative vibe. On fully crewed yachts, you'll enjoy full service with a chef and crew managing everything. Want to know what's included in your setup? Read the full guide: Who takes care of cooking and cleaning on a sailing charter?
Summer sailing holidays rarely face major weather issues, but when the sea gets rough, skippers adjust the route for your safety. Expect protected bays, marina stops, or a change in plan. These moments often lead to unexpected gems: local towns to explore, time to relax on board, or cozy dinners ashore. Curious about how crews handle these changes?
