Itinerary

Day 1
Marigot Bay to the Snapes
Begin your St Lucia to Union itinerary at Marigot Bay, a stunning landlocked inlet used by Nelson to hide his fleet from the French. After a briefing on the boat, we set off on a short sail to the Pitons, one of the most spectacular locations in the Caribbean, where cone-shaped peaks drop almost vertically into the sea. Shore excursions include the world's only 'drive-in volcano'. We spend the night in a mooring in the Pitons Marine Park and enjoy dinner at one of the local restaurants.
Day 2
Piton
We spend the day exploring the Pitons and Soufriere area, a fascinating place ideal for those who enjoy snorkelling, diving and hiking. Book an excursion to see the volcano, hot springs and botanical gardens just outside Soufriere. We enjoy a barbecue as the sun sets over the Pitons.
Day 3
Pythons to Bequia
After breakfast, we set sail for Bequia, approximately 7 hours sailing. Bequia has a unique and magical charm that is hard to find anywhere else in the Caribbean. The island combines an enduring seafaring heritage with a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. We moor in Admiralty Bay. We stock up on supplies and then enjoy cocktails and dinner at one of the many waterfront restaurants.
Day 4
Bequia
We spend the day exploring the island. For divers, Bequia offers some of the best dive sites in the region with locations within easy reach of the anchorage. Shore activities include a guided tour of the island, including a visit to the Turtle Sanctuary. For the more active there are numerous walking trails around Bequia with superb views from the hill tops.
Day 5
Bequia to Mustique
We enjoy a short sail to Mustique, stopping in Petit Nevis for a swim. Mustique is a private island that offers a rare combination of elegance and informality to those seeking privacy and luxury. We moor before heading to the famous Basil's Bar; home of the Mustique Rhythm and Blues Festival or take a taxi to the Firefly restaurant for pre dinner drinks.
Day 6
Mustique to Tobago Cays
We sail south to the Tobago Cays, one of the most beautiful anchorages in the world. We anchor inside the Cays with the huge horseshoe reef in front of us to protect us from the ocean waves. There are no restaurants or bars in the Cays - we light the barbecue and dine under the stars.
Day 7
Tobago Cays
Halfway through the St Lucia to Grenada itinerary, we spend the day snorkelling and exploring the Cays: as the area is protected, the richness of marine life is extraordinary. Just off the small island of Baradel is an enclosed turtle feeding area, and it is an incredible experience to get up close and personal with these extraordinary animals. We explore the islands on land and climb to their peaks for breathtaking views and watch the almost tame iguanas and land tortoises bobbing around.
Day 8
Tobago Cays to Salt Whistle Bay, Mayreau
A short sail to Mayreau in the morning, dropping anchor in Salt Whistle Bay, a semicircle of white sand surrounded by palm trees. There is some good walking here, but most worthwhile is the short hike to the top of the hill and the stunning views from the Catholic Church. For dinner, dine flintlock style on rock tables at Salt Whistle Bay Resort or anchor in Saline Bay by walking to Dennis's Hideaway for fresh local seafood or lobster.
Day 9
Mayreau to Chatham Bay, Union Island
We sail one hour downwind towards Chatham Bay, Union Island. This large anchorage has a wide beach below high hills. There is excellent snorkelling along the north side of the bay and some nice land walks. For dinner let's enjoy a beach BBQ hosted by 'Shark Attack' or local food at the Sun, Beach and Eat Bar run by Seckie and Vanessa.
Day 10
Union Island to Petit St. Vincent
We sail from Chatham to Clifton Harbour, then to Petit St Vincent for the night. Still off the PSV Resort, we dine exclusively at the resort or arrange a taxi boat for excellent local food at Palm Beach Restaurant on Petite Martinique. We top up the boat's tank with fuel if requested on the Petite Martinique which is duty free as already in the state of Grenada.
