Yacht - Beneteau First 47.7
The all new Beneteau First 47.7 combines a sleek and sophisticated racer with all the comforts of a luxurious cruiser.
The all new Beneteau First 47.7 combines a sleek and sophisticated racer with all the comforts of a luxurious cruiser. Her Bruce Farr designed hull and powerful rig provide excellent performance, whether you're in a hurry or just cruising. She is available bareboat, please add 100 euro for the end of week cleaning.
The cockpit is wide (too wide to brace your feet on the opposite seat) and well arranged for cruising with a pair of Lewmars sunk into each coaming (a 58 primary and 48 aft), which should easily handle even the largest headsail. The helmsman's office is notable for an immense wheel that allows the skipper to sit on the teak-side deck either side of him or use the scalloped bench seat across the transom. Three cockpit lockers (one of which is dedicated to store fuel) provide ample storage, and the boom is so high that even the tallest sailor can stand on the cockpit seats with impunity. All the sail controls lead to Lewmar 44s with Spinlock stoppers at the forward end of the cockpit.
The rest of the deck is highlighted by excellent non-slip surfaces wherever you might step (including on the side of the cabin, for use when heeled) and built-in Dorade vents in blister mounts with protective guards. The deck is encircled by double lifelines with gates on each side and aft and a varnished mahogany toe rail. The anchor locker forward holds an electric windlass and, just aft, a separate sail locker easily holds spare sails or a deflated tender. At the transom, a fold-down platform is teak-planked and perfect for swimming or boarding the tender. A folding swim platform retracts easily conforming to the sleek lines of the boat when on the move.
The First 47.7 is also fully equipped for comfortable cruising. The plush interior offers many exquisite details. The warm tones of cherry stained interior greet you as you enter the salon and there is plenty of ventilation accented by the 6'4" feet of headroom. Luxurious appointments such as handrails sheathed in leather, a gimbaled salon table that can be tilted when heeling, and companionway steps framed with aluminium create a unique atmosphere of beauty and intimacy. All of these details are designed specifically to meet the high demands of the sophisticated Beneteau sailor. There are 4 large berths, hanging closets, and functional lighting. There are 2 twin bunk rooms forward and 2 double cabins aft. The nav station faces forward with a large chart table and cubby hole storage for charts and instruments. The galley is fully equipped with a large front-loading refrigerator, 3-burner stove, and loads of counter space. All of this is combined with custom cabinetry and the exceptional interior joinery that is the Beneteau signature.
Undersail , this is a fun boat, although it's neither an easy singlehander nor a ma-and-pa boat, because there's a lot of sail to trim. But it's light and responsive on the helm, knocking off eight knots in a 15 knot breeze
