Your sailing trip
Discover villages with beautiful architecture, ancient sites, pine forests and beautiful secluded bays, while sailing in the best wind conditions.
A sailing experience that offers something for everybody’s taste! In a similar way to the Ionian, this sea is quite protected by the coast of Attica, so we avoid the big swell that is common further out in the Aegean Sea. This is important for us, as the big majority of our guests have never been on a yacht before and the cruising wouldn’t be attractive if the seas were choppy.
The Saronic Islands, similar to the Ionian, offer us numerous options for places to visit and nice bays for our swim stops, and what’s important, the distances between them are reasonable, which makes them ideal for a relaxed sailing holiday.
The villages and small towns have a nice architecture and because of their hilly countryside they are amphitheatrical, so they are always a pleasant sight as you are slowly approaching the harbor under sail. There is a big variety of places to visit, like Aegina, Poros, Hydra, Spetses, Vathi on the Methana peninsula and Palea Epidavros with the famous ancient theatre which is a world heritage site, Angistri and even Nafplio at the south.
On a 2 week sailing cruise, you can get further south and sail along the eastern coast of the Peloponnese visiting its quiet little villages and getting all the way to the picturesque medieval village of Monemvasia at the south, which is enclosed in a high stone wall with the sea all around.
But except for the wonderful places you will visit during your sailing cruise, we would recommend that you also plan to stay in Athens for at least a day (ideally 2-3) before or after your cruise. In one day you can have a pleasant walk around the famous ancient sites like the Acropolis, the Parthenon, the Agora and many more.
In the evening if you still have some time, you can have a quick look at the archaeological museum, although you really need a second day if you would like to have a good look at the incredible treasures from the ancient times that are kept there.
The distances between the islands in this area are slightly bigger than in the Ionian, however we plan our route in such a way that we make good use of the wind direction, and have fast and pleasant crossings. After all, we are well-known for our relaxed sailing cruises, every day combining a few hours of sailing, a few hours anchored in a bay and finally mooring in a little harbor around 4-5 o'clock in the evening so we can explore the villages.

Cuisine on board
During your sailing cruise you will enjoy the beauty of the Greek Islands, but you will also taste some of the tastiest homemade dishes of the Mediterranean cuisine...this is also infact a ‘gourmet cruises’!!! It is a mix of recipes from the Mediterranean countries, always using fresh bio products and of course our best extra virgin olive oil. We serve tapas style dishes with a variety of appetizers, salads and main courses in the middle of the table, so everyone can help themselves to whatever they like. Lunch is accompanied by delicate local wines or a icecold beer. Alicia is the chef/hostess aboard our yacht Velos, but her recipes are also prepared by the chef/hostess on our smaller yacht Alexandros, as she Alicia’s protegeè. If you have any food allergies or intolerances it is not a problem, but it will be great if you could let us know beforehand so that we may accommodate for that. Our Greek Island cruises are half-board and if you decide to spend one or more nights in a secluded bay, you can also have your dinner onboard for a cost of 30 Euro per person, minimum 4 people (sundowner cocktail, appetizers, main dishes, wine or beer and dessert).
A typical day
When you arrive onboard the first evening and after a welcome cocktail, we will inform you about the area and all the possible places to visit. After a general itinerary will be drawn with the consensus of all.. However our experience has shown that during your cruise it may alter slightly, as you will get new ideas along the way! After all, a sailing holiday is all about freedom and exploration! A typical day on our Greek Island cruises, starts in the marina of a little village where you spent the previous night (or anchored in a remote bay if you decided to stay there!). After a good night's sleep onboard our sailing yacht, you help yourself with breakfast on deck. Normally around 9:30 we set sail. With the gentle breeze that prevails in the Greek Seas during the summer months, you will have a comfortable sail to a bay of your choice either on the same island or another one, where you can swim in the emerald waters of the Greek Seas, snorkel and explore or just relax reading your book. Around 1 pm, lunch is served at the cockpit. In late afternoon it's a good time to weigh anchor, hoist the sails again and let the local breeze do its magic and take us to a picturesque little village on another island. We'll be there around 5 o'clock which will give you plenty of time to explore the place and experience the local culture. Later you can head for dinner to one of the tavernas, where you will have the opportunity to taste the Greek cuisine, famous for its delicious plates.
