Cabin Charter in Balearic Islands from Mallorca
Catamaran cabin charter in Mallorca, 300 days of sunshine per year...
Mallorca is the largest island in the Spanish autonomous region of the Balearic Islands. Approx. 900,000 inhabitants live on the island of Mallorca. The main town is called Palma de Mallorca. The island has an area of almost 3600 km², a large part of which is under landscape and nature protection.
Mallorca is characterized by two regions: Tramuntana, the mountains in the north, and Pla de Mallorca in the south. As a result of geological folds, the Tramuntana is rugged; there are few natural harbors on its rugged coast. In contrast, the south has a gentle relief with flat sandy beaches. The coast is more straightforward with rocks and long sandy beaches. The highest point on the island rises at 1445 meters, the high mountain Puig Major, from which one has a great panoramic view.
The long coastline offers numerous changes for catamaran sailing in Spain: cliffs, quiet and secluded bays, and long beaches as well as some natural harbors.
Outside of the two-port cities such as Palma de Mallorca and Alcudia, there are still 33 well-known yacht harbors, marinas, and jetties on the island of Mallorca. From the simple jetty to the luxury marina Port Adriano, there is something for every taste. We can visit many bays with the catamarans around Mallorca because these yachts have a shallow draft.
The original north of the island of Mallorca is rocky and characterized by rugged, jagged, partly fjord-like coasts, the south seems gentler, the coast is less rugged, has better beaches, and therefore more tourism.
Bathing and snorkeling in the warm, clear water, anchoring in idyllic rocky bays with a view of massive mountain ridges and the scent of orange groves when going ashore: The contrasts of the Balearic Islands make this sailing area for families on a catamaran Mallorca one of the most attractive for both newcomers and sailors for experienced sailors.
On modern catamarans, we sail past rugged cliffs or drive into dreamy bays with white beaches, green pine trees, and old Spanish watchtowers. The yachts are moored in Palma de Mallorca.
The sailing area of the Balearic Islands is fascinatingly diverse: Quaint harbor towns, modern marinas, and beautiful anchorages mean that we are spoiled for choice.
The charming island of Menorca and the small nature reserve around the island of Cabrera are also well suited for a detour. Although the Balearic Islands are well developed for tourism and there is a lively life in many places, there is a lot of nature and originality to discover, especially for sailors.
