Sail among the picturesque islands of Naguargandup and anchor at a different spot each day. Relax on board and enjoy the beauty of the San Blas Islands and its magical sunsets, while savouring refreshing drinks on our boat deck. All this accompanied with delicious meals of fresh fish, seafood and Mediterranean recipes.
About the San Blas Islands (Guna Yala) The San Blas Islands make up an Archipelago, also known as the region of Kuna Yala. It is formed by around 365 coral islands and remains one of the best kept secrets in the Caribbean for sailing. Its original name, Guna Yala, means “Kuna territory” in Kuna language, and its history goes back 500 years before the arrival of the Spanish conquerors, who named it as it is still known today. The San Blas Islands cover 125 miles at the northeastern Caribbean coast of Panama.
Curious facts: The San Blas islands have been selected as “one of the two best sailing destinations in the world” by the magazine Cruising World and Le Monde Voyage. In many occasions the islands have been the scenary of National Geographic articles. San Blas offers pristine nature, without the presence of any cruise ships or resorts.
Itinerary
Day1
San Blas
After the transfer from Panama City to San Blas (Taxi Launch and Return 110USD per person), we finally sail to our first stop, Cayo Lemon, the first of San Blas pearls and gateway to this paradise of islands. Under the tropical sun and where the water is always crystal clear you will admire the colorful reefs rich in life.
Day2
Cayo Lemon - Chichime
Enjoy the freedom that only the boat and the sea can give you. We enter the Caribbean rhythm, where there are no timetables and we live in freedom, doing only what we like. Thanks to modern tenders we can move easily to snorkel in the best places among clown fish, parrot fish, angel fish, turtles..but also lizards and birds that hide among the mangroves, the wild and uncontaminated nature will not end to surprise you with its fantasy.
After exploring the area we will head towards Chichime, where we will spend the night in its lagoon, with a lobster dinner.
Day3
Holandeses Cays
After breakfast, dive and swim, we sail towards Cayo Holandes, a real natural swimming pool with crystal clear water where you can relax. So we begin to meet the Kuna who will join us on their traditional boats intrigued by our presence: with them they bring the products of local crafts, but also fruit and vegetables with which trade support their community, inextricably linked to centuries-old traditions. We will sail from the center of Cayo Holandes to the East end where we will stop for the best snorkeling on the island near the bay called "the pools".
Day4
Coco Bandero
We open the mainsail and the bow towards Coco Bandero, the breeze pushes us fast and brings us already in sight of the green of the palms and the always crystalline water that await us. We will spend the afternoon among colorful fish, anemones and starfish to enjoy fish caught by the light of a splendid beach barbeque. With a sip of Rhum, under the celestial vault, we will then accompany ourselves in sweet dreams.
Day5
Coco Bandero
Coco Bandero deserves a prolonged stop, the shelter of the island hides one of the most populous reefs in the archipelago. Immerse yourself in races, colorful fish and turtles.
Day6
Narganá
Breakfast on board and route to Narganà to get to know the local population better. The Kuna will welcome you with their smiles and colorful clothes. It will amaze you to discover how they still live in full harmony with nature on these islands far from everything, without technology and faithful to their habits developed over the centuries. We will try to eat together with the Kuna people, usually very hospitable, to fully enjoy this precious cultural exchange.
Day7
Coco Bandero
After replenishing galley and fresh water, we will head west to land on the small, uninhabited islands of Canbombia south of Coco Bandero.
