The Blue Grotto
It is one of several sea caves, worldwide, that is flooded with a brilliant blue or emerald light. The quality and nature of the color in each cave is determined by the particular lighting conditions in that particular cave.
Punta Carena Lighthouse
The lighthouse has been active since 1867; its construction began in 1862.
It consists of an octagonal brick tower with lantern and gallery, above a two-story building. The lighthouse was repainted recently and is now white with red vertical stripes, and the caretaker's house is red.
Marina Piccola ("little harbor"; also Marina di Mulo) is located on the southern side of the island of Capri. It is near the Faraglioni sea stacks to the southeast. The Via Krupp is a historic switchback paved footpath which connect the Charterhouse of San Giacomo and the Gardens of Augustus area with Marina Piccola. The Marina Piccola, used by Augustus and Tiberius, preceded the Marina Grande.
The Arco Naturale is a natural arch on the east coast of the island of Capri. Dating from the Paleolithic age, it is the remains of a collapsed grotto. The arch spans 12 m at a height of 18 m above ground and consists of limesto.
Off the island of Capri, there are three "famous" faraglioni. The have been named Stella(connected to the island, 109 m.) Mezzo(82 m.),Scopolo or Fuori(106 m).
The average height of the Faraglioni is 75 meters. The Faraglione di Mezzo is characterized by a central hole, large enough to allow for the passage of a small boat.
Casa Malaparte is a red masonry box with reverse pyramidal stairs leading to the roof patio. On the roof is a freestanding curving white wall of increasing height. It sits on a dangerous cliff 32 metres above the sea overlooking the Gulf of Salerno. Access to this private property is either by foot from the Town of Capri or by boat and a staircase cut into the cliff.
