Your sailing trip
An experience that goes beyond the typical sailing cruise

Guna Yala’s magnificent views
Once the boat is moored, masks, tubes and fins are available for you to snorkel between the reefs and wrecks, admiring starfishes and rainbow fishes and a lot more. If you are lucky, you can even admire eagle rays, barracudas, nurse sharks, clown fish, parrot fish and dolphins! The reef has plenty of colours and it’s another reason to snorkel under the San Blas sea: Guna Yala’s magnificent views are never too deep, so you will never miss your scuba gear.
Travel organizer tips
You have to communicate to your captain in which hotel you stay in Panama City. He can organize transportation. The trip has two phases: the jeep trip, about 3 hours, and the boat trip ,between 1 and 2 hours, depending on weather and how far are located the boats. The driver of the jeep and the boat captain communicate together, so you don't need to worry about anything. Just be patient if you have to wait for the boat or jeep because in Guna Yala life is relaxed and sometime you have to wait the other passengers.
The larger villages in San Blas have small restaurants with limited menus. Villages also have small grocery stores that sell basic food items and beverages. Ice is very hard to come by in San Blas.
The Guna run some bars and restaurants on different islands where you can get a delicious local meal. The Guna gathers this local food from the rich sea around the islands of San Blas. Take note that you’re not allowed to catch fish yourself or collect coconuts from the islands of San Blas.
A traditional meal that is served all year round in San Blas is the Red Snapper fish with coconut-flavored rice. The Red Snapper is caught on the same day that it is to be eaten because the Guna never overdue the fishing so the sea keeps his fish rich environment. Don’t expect a small Red Snapper like in restaurants at home, the ones the Guna serve are really big and you can share one with 2-3 persons.
You can buy fresh lobsters from the Gunas and have it cooked to perfection by a local for $6This lobster is delicious since it is fresh and has not been in contact with polluted water. The Lobster is also served with the traditional coconut rice. Crabs are also on the menu as so are some other fish but they do not always serve these foods to tourists or out standers of the Guna communities because they think the fish are holy creatures that should be respected.
