Itinerary
Day1
Naples
On Saturday afternoon, at 3:00 PM, we will meet at the Darsena Acton in Naples, where our sailboat awaits us. After checking in, we will introduce ourselves to our skipper and crew, who will explain the safety equipment and the rules on board. They will assign us our cabins, where we can store our luggage and our food. Then, we will be ready to set sail towards our first destination: Ischia. Ischia is the largest and most famous of the islands in the Gulf of Naples. It is known as the green island, for its lush vegetation, and as the island of spas , for its hot springs and wellness centers. Ischia is also an island rich in history, art and culture , with its Aragonese castle, churches, museums and picturesque villages. Sailing towards Ischia, we will be able to admire the breathtaking panorama of the Neapolitan coast, with Vesuvius , Cape Posillipo and the islands of Procida and Nisida . We can also take advantage of the navigation to learn the rudiments of sailing, alternating at the helm and maneuvers, under the guidance of our skipper. If the weather permits, we can also stop for a refreshing dip in the sea. We will arrive in Ischia at sunset , when the sky will be tinged with warm and evocative colors. We will moor in the bay of the Aragonese castle , one of the most beautiful and evocative on the island. Here, we can dine on board, enjoying the typical products of the local cuisine, such as pizza, mozzarella, tomato and limoncello. Then, we can spend the night at anchor, lulled by the gentle movement of the waves. If the weather conditions do not allow us to spend the night at anchor during the night, we will evaluate the possibility of sleeping in port and leaving the following day.
Day2
Ventotene and Ponza
On Sunday morning, after breakfast on board, we will set sail towards Ventotene , the third island of the Pontine archipelago. Ventotene is an island of volcanic origin, which preserves traces of its ancient history. The island was colonized by the Romans, who built a port, an aqueduct, thermal baths and villas. Among these, Villa Giulia stands out, where the emperor Augustus exiled his daughter Giulia for her love affairs. Ventotene was also home to a political prison during fascism, where some anti-fascists were locked up, including Sandro Pertini and Altiero Spinelli. Ventotene also offers uncontaminated nature , which is part of the protected marine area. The sea around the island is a paradise for diving enthusiasts, who can explore the seabed rich in flora and fauna, and also the wrecks of ancient Roman ships. We can also enjoy the view of the sea and the sky, and make a few stops for a refreshing swim. We will have lunch while sailing , tasting the typical products of the area, such as blue fish, tomatoes, lentils and white wine. Depending on the weather conditions, we will decide whether to spend the night at anchor in Ventotene or continue sailing towards Ponza, arriving in the evening. In both cases, dinner and overnight stay at anchor, with the possibility of going ashore to visit the historic center, the archaeological museum and the church of Santa Candida.
