A weeklong private sailing charter from Milazzo through the Aeolian archipelago, linking Lipari, Filicudi, Salina, Panarea, Stromboli and Vulcano with swim stops in volcanic bays and quiet evening anchorages.
The cruise is based in Milazzo, the Sicilian port that serves as the main gateway to the Aeolian Islands, and follows a circular route through six of the seven volcanic islands of the archipelago, which rise from the Tyrrhenian Sea off the northern coast of Sicily. The islands are a UNESCO World Heritage site, valued for their active volcanoes and the unspoiled character of their coastline.
Distances between the islands are short, so most days combine a relaxed sail with long stops for swimming and time ashore. The route heads west to wild Filicudi, turns east along Salina and Panarea, reaches Stromboli, and comes back through Vulcano and Lipari before the final leg to Milazzo.
The scenery changes from island to island: basalt sea stacks and sea caves off Filicudi, the green slopes and the cliffs of Pollara on Salina, the clear water around the islets of Basiluzzo and Lisca Bianca near Panarea, the glowing Sciara del Fuoco of Stromboli, and the black sand beaches of Vulcano. Nights are spent at anchor in sheltered bays or moored in front of small harbor villages, depending on weather and sea conditions.
Ashore, each island has its own atmosphere: the old harbor and castle of Lipari, the quiet landing of Filicudi, the capers and Malvasia wine of Salina, the whitewashed lanes of Panarea and the black village of Stromboli. Sicilian granita, local wine and fresh seafood are part of the experience wherever the boat stops.
With the whole boat to yourselves, the pace of the week is shaped around the group: mornings under sail, swim and snorkeling breaks in clear water, unhurried lunches and evenings that end either ashore or in a calm anchorage under the stars.
Itinerary
Day1
Boarding and Sail to Lipari
Boarding takes place in Milazzo or Lipari, as confirmed by the operator before departure. After settling in on board, the first sail, if time and conditions allow, goes to Lipari, the largest and liveliest island of the archipelago, where the first night is spent; if the crossing is not possible that day, the skipper chooses a sheltered mooring for the night. The castle, the old town and the harbor of Marina Corta are close to the mooring.
Day2
Filicudi
A morning sail leads west to Filicudi, the wildest island of the route. The main stop is La Canna, a basalt pinnacle rising from the sea, with the Grotta del Bue Marino nearby for swimming and, where a tender is available, exploring by dinghy. The night is spent at anchor in front of the small village of Filicudi, a quiet landing with a handful of local restaurants.
Day3
Salina
The boat sails east to Salina, the greenest island of the archipelago, stopping in the bay of Pollara, a half-submerged volcanic crater with cliffs and clear water. The afternoon follows the coast toward Lingua and Santa Marina Salina, where the evening is free for a walk through the old village and a taste of local wine and granita.
Day4
Panarea
The route continues to Panarea, the smallest and most fashionable island of the group. Stops include the bay of Cala Junco, with the remains of a prehistoric settlement on the headland, and the islets of Lisca Bianca and Basiluzzo, famous for their transparent water and bubbling volcanic gas. The night is spent at Panarea, with dinner in the village.
Day5
Stromboli
A sail northeast brings the boat under the Sciara del Fuoco, the lava slope that runs straight into the sea on the active volcano of Stromboli. Depending on weather and sea conditions, the day can include a swim at the rock of Strombolicchio, with its lighthouse, and a visit to the village of Stromboli before returning to Panarea for the night.
Day6
Vulcano
The boat sails south to Vulcano, anchoring near the Scoglio della Quaglia. Depending on conditions, the day can include swimming at the Grotta del Cavallo and the Piscina di Venere, then time ashore at the black sands. Where access to the crater is allowed, a late afternoon walk to the rim offers sunset views over the archipelago.
Day7
Return to Milazzo
A last morning of sailing passes the Faraglioni of Lipari and a swim stop at the turquoise water of the Pomici beaches, before the crossing back to Milazzo, where the final night is spent on board. Disembarkation takes place the following morning.

A traditional wooden gulet with a teak deck, built for slow, comfortable cruising. Six cabins each have their own bathroom, and a professional crew looks after you throughout the week.
This gulet is made for relaxed days at sea, with a broad teak deck for sunbathing, long lunches in the shade and evenings under the stars. Below deck, one master cabin and five double cabins give every couple or group of friends its own private space, each with a bathroom of its own.
A three-person Italian crew handles the sailing, the kitchen and the daily cabin service, so guests can simply enjoy the voyage. Air conditioning is available in the cabins for a limited number of hours each day.
The boat sleeps twelve guests in six cabins, and it can also be chartered as a whole by a group of friends or a large family.
