This cruise begins and ends on Tortola and loops through the sheltered waters of the British Virgin Islands, one of the best sailing grounds in the Caribbean. Islands are close together, the trade winds are steady and every day offers a new bay to explore.
Distances are short, so there is plenty of time to sail, swim and relax. The route is flexible and is adapted to the weather and the wishes of the group.
Anchorages are set in turquoise water, with reefs close by for snorkelling and the chance to try freediving. Highlights include the caves of Norman Island, the granite boulders of The Baths on Virgin Gorda and the white-sand beaches of Jost Van Dyke.
Ashore, beach bars, small settlements and island walks give a taste of the local atmosphere, and the evenings are easy-going.
Life on board is sociable and unhurried. The group shares meals and tasks, helps sail the boat and makes the most of the warm sea.
Itinerary
Day1
Tortola: Boarding and Sunset Sail
Guests join the boat near Tortola, settle into their cabins and meet the group. After the briefing the boat sets off for a short sail to the first anchorage.
Day2
Tortola to Norman Island
A morning sail leads to Norman Island, known for its caves and clear water. Snorkelling at the caves is a favourite stop, and the evening is spent in a sheltered bay.
Day3
Norman Island to Cooper Island
A short crossing brings the boat to Cooper Island, a quiet island with a calm anchorage and good snorkelling close to the boat. The afternoon is free for swimming, paddling or a walk on the beach.
Day4
Cooper Island to Virgin Gorda: The Baths
The route continues to Virgin Gorda to visit The Baths, where giant granite boulders form pools and passages at the water's edge. An early start helps avoid the crowds, and the rest of the day is for swimming and relaxing.
Day5
Virgin Gorda to Jost Van Dyke
A longer sail leads to Jost Van Dyke, with its long beaches and relaxed beach bars. The evening is a chance to enjoy the island's easy-going atmosphere.
Day6
Jost Van Dyke: Beaches and Snorkelling
A day to swim, snorkel and explore on foot or by dinghy. The boat then moves to a final anchorage for the last night of the cruise.
Day7
Back to Tortola and Disembarkation
A last swim stop opens the day before sailing back to Tortola. After a last night aboard, guests disembark the following morning.
