A week of cabin charter sailing from Raiatea to Taha'a and Bora Bora, with turquoise lagoons, white-sand beaches and coral reefs in the Leeward Islands of French Polynesia.
This cruise starts and ends in Raiatea, in the Leeward Islands of French Polynesia, and explores the warm lagoons that surround Raiatea, Taha'a and Bora Bora. The three islands lie close together, and every day leaves time for the water and for the shore.
The route runs from Raiatea to Taha'a and across to Bora Bora, then returns to Raiatea, and it stays flexible depending on the weather and the group. Crossings between islands are the sailing highlights of the week, while the rest of the time is spent inside sheltered lagoons.
Anchorages are set in clear turquoise water, with white-sand beaches, small palm-fringed islets known as motus and living coral close to the boat. There is plenty of opportunity for swimming, snorkelling and walks along the shore, and the sunsets over the lagoon close each day.
Ashore, the islands keep a strong Polynesian character. There are walking trails, small villages and ancient Polynesian temples to visit on Raiatea, and Bora Bora is dominated by its green volcanic peak rising above the lagoon.
Life on board is relaxed and sociable. The group shares the days at sea, takes part in sailing the boat if it wishes and enjoys evenings at anchor under a clear sky.
Itinerary
Day1
Raiatea: Boarding and First Evening Afloat
Guests join the boat in Raiatea, settle into their cabins and meet the group. After the safety briefing the boat leaves the marina for a short sail to a first sheltered anchorage in the lagoon.
Day2
Raiatea to Taha'a
A sail leads across the shared lagoon to Taha'a, with a swim stop on the way. The evening is spent at anchor among small islets, with the shore close by.
Day3
Taha'a: Lagoon and Islets
A day to enjoy the calm water around Taha'a, with swimming and snorkelling over coral and time ashore for a walk or a stroll through a village, depending on the conditions.
Day4
Crossing to Bora Bora
The route leaves the shelter of the lagoon for the open-water crossing to Bora Bora. The boat anchors in the Bora Bora lagoon below its green volcanic peak.
Day5
Bora Bora: Beaches and Reefs
A day in one of the most famous lagoons in the world, with white-sand beaches, clear turquoise water and reefs close to the boat for snorkelling. Guests can explore the shore at their own pace.
Day6
Leaving Bora Bora
The boat sails out of the lagoon and heads back toward Raiatea, with a stop along the way for a swim and a quiet evening at anchor.
Day7
Back to Raiatea and Last Night Aboard
A final sail brings the boat back to Raiatea. After a last night aboard, guests disembark the following morning.
Important Note This itinerary may vary depending on weather conditions, sea state and operational requirements. The captain may adjust the route, anchorages and overnight stops to ensure safety, comfort and the best possible sailing experience.

What to pack for a sailing holiday?
Pack smart for your yacht charter: choose a soft bag instead of a hard suitcase, bring lightweight layers, reef-safe sunscreen, and non-slip shoes for onboard use. A couple of swimsuits and motion sickness remedies can also make a big difference. Each boat has limited storage, so pack light, but wisely! Need help building the perfect list? What's a Typical Day Like on a Yacht Charter?
Start your day with a swim in a quiet bay, sail to hidden beaches or seaside villages, and enjoy a slow lunch on deck. Afternoons mean snorkeling, sunbathing, or exploring ashore. As the sun sets, your boat anchors in a scenic cove or near a harbor, ready for a relaxed dinner and a night under the stars. Curious about the full experience? What Happens in Case of Bad Weather During a Sailing Holiday?
When the sea gets rough, skippers adjust the route for your safety. Expect protected bays, marina stops, or a change in plan. These moments often lead to unexpected gems: local towns to explore, time to relax on board, or cozy dinners ashore. Curious about how crews handle these changes?
