A small-group cabin charter sailing holiday from Grenada through Carriacou and the Grenadines, with a professional skipper on board and evenings on a different island almost every night, from the Tobago Cays Marine Park to Mustique and Bequia.
The cruise departs from Port Louis Marina in St George's, on the south-west coast of Grenada and a short drive from the international airport. It follows a round-trip route north through Carriacou and the Grenadines, returning to the same marina at the end of the cruise. The length varies by departure, from ten to thirteen nights: shorter cruises trim the northern legs, longer ones leave more time at anchor.
This is winter sailing at its easiest, with steady north-east trade winds, warm turquoise water and short island hops. Most legs in the Grenadines are a few hours at most, with a long lunch and swim stop at anchor, and the two trade-wind passages between Grenada and Carriacou are the longest of the cruise. The plan moves with the weather, and the route is adapted each day to wind and sea state.
The cruising ground is one of the most unspoilt in the Eastern Caribbean. The Molinère Underwater Sculpture Park off Grenada, the palm-topped sandspit of Sandy Island, wild Chatham Bay and the Tobago Cays Marine Park, with its green turtles and Horseshoe Reef, make for some of the best swimming and snorkelling of the cruise. Saltwhistle Bay on Mayreau is a near-perfect crescent of sand.
Further north the route reaches Mustique, with its mooring in Britannia Bay and the famous Basil's Bar, and Bequia, the most characterful of the Grenadines, with Admiralty Bay and its model-boat builders. Lush, mountainous Saint Vincent marks the northern turnaround. Customs and immigration are cleared when crossing between Grenada and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Days settle into an easy rhythm: a morning swim, a short sail, lunch at anchor in clear water and an evening on a different island, with dinner ashore at island restaurants and beach bars.
Itinerary
Day1
Boarding at Port Louis Marina
Guests join the boat at Port Louis Marina in St George's and settle into their cabins. A safety briefing and a walkthrough of the route follow, and the first evening is spent in the marina with dinner ashore on the Carenage.
Day2
St George's to the Grenada west coast
A gentle first leg of about eight nautical miles leads up the leeward coast of Grenada. A snorkel stop at the Molinère Underwater Sculpture Park and a lunch and swim at anchor are followed by an evening in Dragon Bay or back in St George's.
Day3
Grenada to Carriacou
The first trade-wind passage, about thirty nautical miles to the north, is often the best sail of the cruise. The afternoon brings arrival in sheltered Tyrrel Bay, with a quiet evening ashore.
Day4
Sandy Island and Hillsborough
A short hop leads to Sandy Island, a palm-topped sandspit inside a reef with some of the best snorkelling and swimming of the cruise. The afternoon is spent ashore in Hillsborough, with the night at anchor off Sandy Island or back in Tyrrel Bay.
Day5
Carriacou to Union Island
The route crosses into Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, with customs clearance at Clifton, and continues to the wild, hill-ringed Chatham Bay. The evening is spent on the beach.
Day6
Union Island to the Tobago Cays
A short sail leads to the Tobago Cays Marine Park, the centrepiece of the cruise. The boat anchors behind Horseshoe Reef, guests swim with green turtles and the night is spent inside the park.
Day7
Tobago Cays to Mayreau
A short hop leads to tiny Mayreau and the crescent of sand at Saltwhistle Bay. A walk up to the hilltop church gives a view across the Cays, followed by sunset drinks ashore.
Day8
Mayreau to Mustique
An easy sail north past Canouan, with a swim and lunch at anchor, leads to exclusive Mustique and a mooring in Britannia Bay. The evening is for sundowners at the famous Basil's Bar.
Day9
Mustique to Bequia
A pleasant reach leads to Bequia, with an anchorage in Admiralty Bay off Princess Margaret Beach. The evening brings a waterfront dinner and a wander through Port Elizabeth, home of the island's model-boat builders.
Day10
Bequia to Saint Vincent
The northern turnaround leads to lush, mountainous Saint Vincent and the palm-fringed Cumberland Bay, with optional trips to the Botanical Gardens or Dark View Falls. On shorter departures the route turns south at Bequia instead.
Day11
Saint Vincent back to Carriacou
A long southbound day brings a second swim stop in the Tobago Cays Marine Park, then the run to Carriacou and a night in Tyrrel Bay, where the cruise clears back into Grenada.
Day12
Carriacou to Port Louis Marina
The final trade-wind passage leads south down the coast of Grenada, with a last swim stop on the way, before the boat returns to Port Louis Marina. The last evening is spent in the marina, with a farewell dinner ashore in St George's, and guests disembark the following morning.

A spacious, modern catamaran with six double cabins, each with its own shower toilet, and generous living spaces in the cockpit, on the foredeck and on the flybridge.
This catamaran is designed for sailing in comfort. Its generous beam gives wide, open spaces for relaxed days on board, with a large cockpit at the stern where meals are shared and a grill is ready for lunch while swimmers enjoy the water.
Inside, the open kitchen and saloon flow into the cockpit and keep the living area bright and airy. On deck, the classic trampolines at the bow are made for sunbathing and evening drinks, and the flybridge adds another social area. Air conditioning cools both the saloon and the cabins.
Six spacious double cabins, three in each hull, each with a private bathroom and a separate shower, give every pair real privacy, so friends and families can share the boat without anyone sleeping on the sofa. A hydraulic bathing platform, a watermaker and a generator add to the comfort.
Under sail the boat stays flat and steady, even when the wind picks up, and electric winches and a self-tacking jib keep manoeuvres easy. In total the boat has fourteen berths, twelve of them in the six guest cabins.

What to pack for a sailing holiday?
Pack smart for your yacht charter: choose a soft bag instead of a hard suitcase, bring lightweight layers, reef-safe sunscreen, and non-slip shoes for onboard use. A couple of swimsuits and motion sickness remedies can also make a big difference. Each boat has limited storage, so pack light, but wisely! Need help building the perfect list? What's a Typical Day Like on a Yacht Charter?
Start your day with a swim in a quiet bay, sail to hidden beaches or seaside villages, and enjoy a slow lunch on deck. Afternoons mean snorkeling, sunbathing, or exploring ashore. As the sun sets, your boat anchors in a scenic cove or near a harbor, ready for a relaxed dinner and a night under the stars. Curious about the full experience? Who Handles Cooking and Cleaning on a Yacht Charter?
On a crewed cabin charter the professional crew looks after navigation and the running of the boat, while meals and final cleaning depend on the cruise: check the included services in the price details. Dinners are usually taken ashore at local restaurants and are paid separately. Want to know more about how it works? Read the full guide: Who takes care of cooking and cleaning on a sailing charter?
What Happens in Case of Bad Weather During a Sailing Holiday?
When the sea gets rough, skippers adjust the route for your safety. Expect protected bays, marina stops, or a change in plan. These moments often lead to unexpected gems: local towns to explore, time to relax on board, or cozy dinners ashore. Curious about how crews handle these changes?
