A one week catamaran holiday from Kos through the Dodecanese, with swim stops at Pserimos, quiet anchorages around Kalymnos and Leros, and time ashore in Lipsi and Patmos.
This one week cruise starts from Marina Kos and explores the central Dodecanese, the string of islands that lie between Kos and the open Aegean. The route heads north and west across short stretches of open water, with a different harbour or bay for almost every night.
The passages are easy to plan around: a morning sail, a swim before lunch and a slow afternoon at anchor. The wide decks and the stable platform of a catamaran suit families, groups of friends and crews who prefer swimming and exploring ashore to long days under sail.
The scenery changes from the sandy beaches of Pserimos to the deep, sheltered inlets of Kalymnos and Leros, and on to the low whitewashed villages of Lipsi and the hill of Patmos crowned by its monastery. In summer the afternoon breeze can freshen, so the route leaves room to choose the more protected bay on the day.
Ashore, the cruise combines tavernas on the waterfront with the small harbour towns of Pothia, Lakki and Skala, and the old town of Chora on Patmos, a UNESCO World Heritage site with the Monastery of Saint John.
On board the day follows an easy rhythm of breakfast on deck, a short sail, a swim and a quiet evening at anchor or on the quay. It is a holiday for those who enjoy being the crew of their own boat, with the freedom to stay longer where the place deserves it.
Itinerary
Day1
Boarding in Kos and Pserimos
Boarding takes place at Marina Kos in the afternoon. After settling into the cabins and a briefing at the base, the catamaran leaves the harbour and heads across the short channel to Pserimos, a small island with a sandy bay and clear water, for a first swim and dinner on board.
Day2
Pserimos to Kalymnos
A morning swim is followed by a sail north to Kalymnos, the island of sponge divers. The boat anchors in one of the sheltered inlets on the west side or moors in the harbour, with time to walk ashore for a taverna dinner.
Day3
Kalymnos to Leros
The route continues north between the two islands to Leros, whose deep bays make some of the best natural harbours in the Aegean. Depending on wind and sea, the night is spent at anchor or in a small harbour with tavernas on the waterfront.
Day4
Leros to Lipsi
A short sail leads to Lipsi, a small and quiet island with a pretty harbour, white houses and sandy beaches nearby. It is a relaxed stop for swimming, a walk and an evening at one of the quayside restaurants.
Day5
Lipsi to Patmos
The crossing to Patmos is short. The harbour of Skala is the gateway to Chora, the hilltop town and the Monastery of Saint John, listed by UNESCO, with views over the surrounding islands.
Day6
Patmos back toward Kalymnos
Leaving Patmos, the catamaran heads south with time for a last swim at an anchorage chosen along the way. The night is spent in a sheltered bay or harbour on Kalymnos or Leros, depending on the wind.
Day7
Back to Kos and disembarkation
The final sail leads back to Kos, with the harbour reached on Friday afternoon. The boat is prepared for return at Marina Kos, the last night is spent on board and disembarkation takes place the following morning.

A bright, roomy catamaran for friends and families, with a wide cockpit for shared meals and cabins that give everyone a bit of privacy.
Life on board centres on the generous cockpit, where meals and sundowners happen in the shade of the bimini, and on the open saloon that connects to the galley. Large windows keep the interior bright and make it easy to enjoy the view while you cook or relax.
The boat sleeps ten berths in total, eight in the four double cabins and two in the smaller cabins, so a group of friends or a family with children can travel together without crowding. Solar panels, a generator and a water maker help keep daily life comfortable on longer stretches away from the marina.
