Your sailing trip
A small-group cabin charter sailing holiday from Portisco along the Costa Smeralda and into the La Maddalena Archipelago, with a professional skipper on board and evenings in village harbours and quiet bays.
The cruise departs from Marina Cala dei Sardi in Portisco, on the north-east coast of Sardinia and about thirty minutes from Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport. It follows a circular route north along the Costa Smeralda and into the La Maddalena Archipelago, returning to the same marina at the end of the week.
Most days leave time for a long lunch and swim stop at anchor, and the plan moves with the weather: the Strait of Bonifacio can blow, so the route is adapted each day to wind and sea state.
The archipelago is a protected national park of granite islands, pine and turquoise shallows at the north-east corner of Sardinia. Spargi, with the pale sand and clear water of Cala Corsara, Budelli and Santa Maria around the shallow lagoon of Porto della Madonna, and Caprera with the cove of Cala Coticcio form the heart of the week. The pink beach of Budelli is admired from the water, as landing is not permitted, and nights are spent on park moorings or in quiet bays.
Along the Costa Smeralda the route calls at Cala di Volpe, Liscia Ruja and the harbour of Porto Cervo, before turning into the park. La Maddalena town offers a walk through its old harbour quarter, and Caprera is the island where Garibaldi spent his last years. Weather permitting, the route can cross the Strait of Bonifacio to the citadel of southern Corsica, with its white cliffs and narrow, fjord-like entrance. Tavolara and Porto Rotondo are possible stops on the way back to Portisco, where the last evening is spent in the marina.
Days settle into an easy rhythm: a morning swim, a short sail, a lunch at anchor in clear water and an evening in a village harbour or a quiet bay, with dinner ashore in family-run restaurants and harbour trattorias.

A stable, spacious catamaran with a comfortable cockpit and saloon and four double cabins, each with its own shower toilet.
This catamaran is a comfortable floating home: the shaded cockpit invites shared meals and lazy days, while the saloon opens onto the water and keeps the living area light and airy. A lowered bathing platform makes swimming easy, and two large trampolines at the bow are made for sunbathing.
Below deck there are four double cabins, two in each hull, each with its own shower toilet and air conditioning, which is also available in the saloon. Sailing is relaxed and stable, so no previous experience is needed.
The boat has ten berths in total: eight guests in the four guest cabins and two crew members in their own separate cabins.

Pack smart for your yacht charter: choose a soft bag instead of a hard suitcase, bring lightweight layers, reef-safe sunscreen, and non-slip shoes for onboard use. A couple of swimsuits and motion sickness remedies can also make a big difference. Each boat has limited storage, so pack light, but wisely! Need help building the perfect list? Start your day with a swim in a quiet bay, sail to hidden beaches or seaside villages, and enjoy a slow lunch on deck. Afternoons mean snorkeling, sunbathing, or exploring ashore. As the sun sets, your boat anchors in a scenic cove or near a harbor, ready for a relaxed dinner and a night under the stars. Curious about the full experience? Discover more in our guide: What's a typical day like on a sailing holiday?
On a crewed cabin charter the professional crew looks after navigation and the running of the boat, while meals and final cleaning depend on the cruise: check the included services in the price details. Dinners are usually taken ashore at local restaurants and are paid separately. Want to know more about how it works? Read the full guide: Who takes care of cooking and cleaning on a sailing charter?
When the sea gets rough, skippers adjust the route for your safety. Expect protected bays, marina stops, or a change in plan. These moments often lead to unexpected gems: local towns to explore, time to relax on board, or cozy dinners ashore. Curious about how crews handle these changes?
