Seven nights of cabin charter sailing in the Sporades, from Skiathos to Skopelos, Alonissos, Peristera and Kyra Panagia, with swim stops in the clear waters of a national marine park.
This seven-night cruise explores the Sporades, a quiet group of green islands in the northern Aegean, starting and ending in Skiathos. The route links Skiathos and Skopelos with the islands of the Alonissos marine park, where pine forests run down to pebble beaches and clear water.
The legs are short and relaxed. Most days include a sail of about two to four hours, which leaves plenty of time for swimming, walking ashore and a slow lunch. The exact route and the overnight stops follow the wind, the sea state and the harbour space available.
The scenery is the reason to come: the sandy beaches of the north coast of Skiathos, the wooded coves of Skopelos, and the rocky, unspoilt shores of Alonissos, Peristera and Kyra Panagia, part of the National Marine Park of the Northern Sporades, where dolphins and the rare Mediterranean monk seal live. Planitis Bay is a remote anchorage far from the crowds.
Ashore there is plenty to discover: the harbour and old town of Skiathos, the whitewashed lanes of Skopelos town, the church of Agios Ioannis made famous by the film Mamma Mia, the old village of Chora on Alonissos and the hike to the monastery above Kyra Panagia.
Life on board is easy and sociable. The group shares the boat, the swims and the evenings in port, with free time in the island tavernas, and the cruise ends with the return to Skiathos.
Itinerary
Day1
Skiathos: Boarding and First Evening
The adventure begins in Skiathos, where the group meets the skipper and the fellow travellers in the new port and boards the boat. After a welcome briefing and settling into the cabins, the evening is free for a stroll around the harbour and a first dinner in one of the waterfront tavernas.
Day2
Skiathos to Skopelos
An early start leaves time for a swim stop along the north coast of Skiathos, where Elia, Aselinos and Ligaries are among the finest beaches. The sail then continues east to Skopelos, a passage of about three to four hours. Along the way there is a photo stop at the church of Agios Ioannis, the setting of the wedding scene in Mamma Mia, and free time at Neo Klima or Loutraki, with their beaches and villages.
Day3
Skopelos to Alonissos
The route enters the National Marine Park of the Northern Sporades, where the sea is rich in life and dolphins are often seen. A short sail leads to Alonissos, with swim stops in clear water and time to visit Patitiri, the port, and Chora, the old hilltop village with its sweeping views.
Day4
Alonissos and Peristera
A day of easy sailing among the quiet islands of the marine park. Peristera offers calm water for swimming and snorkelling, and the volunteer team that studies and protects the Mediterranean monk seal is based nearby. Time ashore in Patitiri allows for a walk along the waterfront and a taverna dinner.
Day5
Kyra Panagia and Planitis Bay
The boat heads for the remote island of Kyra Panagia, with a swim in the bay and a hike up to the monastery that overlooks the sea. The night is spent at anchor in Planitis Bay, a sheltered spot with no mobile signal, with a sky full of stars.
Day6
Steni Vala and the Alonissos Coast
The route returns along the coast of Alonissos to Steni Vala, a small fishing village with a sheltered harbour, pebble coves and a handful of tavernas. A relaxed day for swimming, snorkelling and an evening in the Sporades.
Day7
Skopelos to Skiathos and Departure
A final swim stop at Panormos Bay on Skopelos, and perhaps at Koukounaries on Skiathos, comes before the sail back to Skiathos port in the late afternoon. The last evening is free in Skiathos town, and after breakfast the next morning the group says goodbye.

A spacious sailing catamaran with generous lounging areas, comfortable cabins and a sunny deck made for relaxed island cruising.
Stability, space and light define life aboard this sailing catamaran. The wide cockpit and the saloon open onto each other, creating a bright shared area for meals, conversation and quiet moments out of the sun, while the foredeck and the sundeck, with its lounging net, invite long afternoons at anchor.
Four guest cabins, each with its own ensuite bathroom, are spread across the two hulls: two double cabins and two triple-share cabins with bunk beds. Memory foam mattresses, air conditioning and a galley kitchen keep the boat comfortable from the first night to the last, and snorkelling gear, noodles and stand-up paddleboards are ready for swimming stops.
The boat sleeps ten guests in four cabins, looked after by a skipper and an onboard host. Sailing is gentle and unhurried, with short legs that leave time to swim, explore and enjoy the shared table.
