Your sailing trip
A 7 day sailing route through La Maddalena and the cliffs of Bonifacio, guided by an expert skipper and designed for small groups who want an authentic Mediterranean experience
This 7 day sailing itinerary explores the most iconic and sheltered waters between Northern Sardinia and Southern Corsica, an area famous for its white sand coves, granite islands and long summer light. Departing from Olbia, the route follows a flexible pattern shaped by weather and sea conditions, allowing the skipper to choose the most enjoyable anchorages each day. The focus is on slow navigation, swimming in protected bays, walks on pristine islands and evenings spent at anchor under the stars.
Your skipper, Stefano Trombelli, has over 30 years of experience in Mediterranean sailing and offshore navigation. His deep knowledge of the coastline, the winds and the anchorages allows him to select each stop with care, balancing comfort, safety and the best landscape for the day. On board his Sun Odyssey 49, guests enjoy a relaxed rhythm: breakfast in quiet bays, short scenic crossings, afternoons in crystal coves and optional visits to small coastal villages.
During the week you will explore La Maddalena National Park, including Caprera, Spargi, Budelli and Razzoli, and cross to Southern Corsica to admire the extraordinary limestone cliffs and medieval fortress of Bonifacio. Every anchorage is chosen for its natural beauty, snorkeling opportunities and protection from the prevailing winds.
This itinerary is indicative and may vary in order or in choice of anchorages. The goal is always to offer the safest and most enjoyable sailing experience while keeping the spirit of exploration that defines a real sailing holiday.

Sailing Skills & Hands-On Experience with a Professional Skipper
Guests who are curious about sailing can take part in relaxed, hands-on sessions led by the yacht’s professional skipper. Depending on conditions and interest, you may try your hand at steering, adjusting sails, understanding wind direction, reading the sea and participating in basic onboard maneuvers. No previous experience is required, and everything takes place in a safe and calm environment. This optional activity turns the cruise into a true sailing experience, offering guests the chance to understand how a yacht moves, discover the rhythm of life at sea, and enjoy the satisfaction of actively contributing to the journey. Perfect for beginners, sailing enthusiasts or families wanting an educational and fun moment on board.
Island Hiking & Coastal Trails in the Maddalena and Southern Corsica
Northern Sardinia and Southern Corsica offer some of the most striking walking paths in the Mediterranean. From Caprera’s granite viewpoints to the dramatic cliffs above Bonifacio, guests can enjoy short hikes directly from selected anchorages. Trails lead through fragrant Mediterranean scrub, secluded beaches, natural rock formations shaped by centuries of wind, and spectacular sea cliffs overlooking turquoise bays. Ideal for guests who enjoy light adventure between sailing sessions.
Discover Bonifacio: Limestone Cliffs, Old Town and Marina Life
Arriving in Bonifacio by boat is an experience in itself: the entrance carved into towering white cliffs is one of the most impressive in Europe. Once ashore, wander through the medieval citadel, narrow alleys and artisan shops, or stop in the marina for a drink with a view of the bastions. Guests can visit monuments, enjoy Corsican gastronomy, or simply take in the unique atmosphere of this natural fjord-like harbor. A highlight for any cruise sailing between Sardinia and Corsica.
Underwater Discovery in Marine Protected Areas
The protected waters of the Maddalena Archipelago and the coves around Lavezzi and Cavallo offer excellent visibility and vibrant marine life. From shallow sandy bottoms to rocky reefs shaped by the mistral, guests can explore underwater landscapes populated by bream, wrasse, octopus and colorful sea flora. Snorkeling gear is available on board, and most anchorages are perfect for relaxed, safe swims in turquoise water.
Travel organizer tips
Pack smart for your yacht charter: choose a soft bag instead of a hard suitcase, bring lightweight layers, reef-safe sunscreen, and non-slip shoes for onboard use. A couple of swimsuits and motion sickness remedies can also make a big difference. Each boat has limited storage, so pack light—but wisely! Need help building the perfect list? Every day will be quite different from the other, as the beauty of being on a boat is just this! No two days will be the same. The boat moves along an itinerary that is partly decided by the captain beforehand and partly influenced by the weather. Sometimes the boat will be anchored in a bay and sometimes moored in a marina. If you want to go on land, you will either be brought by the captain with the dinghy (a small rubber boat, with engine) or simply step down on the pontoon. Enjoying some local life, going on a shopping spree, eating in the local restaurants, participating in local activities (winery visits, trekking, biking, cooking classes and more) and generally sightseeing is a fundamental part of your sailing holiday just like swimming, sunbathing and relaxing on board in those moments when going to land will not be practical.
