This 7 day sailing itinerary explores the most iconic and sheltered waters between Northern Sardinia and Southern Corsica, an area famous for its white sand coves, granite islands and long summer light. Departing from Olbia, the route follows a flexible pattern shaped by weather and sea conditions, allowing the skipper to choose the most enjoyable anchorages each day. The focus is on slow navigation, swimming in protected bays, walks on pristine islands and evenings spent at anchor under the stars.

Your skipper, Stefano Trombelli, has over 30 years of experience in Mediterranean sailing and offshore navigation. His deep knowledge of the coastline, the winds and the anchorages allows him to select each stop with care, balancing comfort, safety and the best landscape for the day. On board his Sun Odyssey 49, guests enjoy a relaxed rhythm: breakfast in quiet bays, short scenic crossings, afternoons in crystal coves and optional visits to small coastal villages.

During the week you will explore La Maddalena National Park, including Caprera, Spargi, Budelli and Razzoli, and cross to Southern Corsica to admire the extraordinary limestone cliffs and medieval fortress of Bonifacio. Every anchorage is chosen for its natural beauty, snorkeling opportunities and protection from the prevailing winds.

This itinerary is indicative and may vary in order or in choice of anchorages. The goal is always to offer the safest and most enjoyable sailing experience while keeping the spirit of exploration that defines a real sailing holiday.

Itinerary

Day 1
Olbia, boarding and first night at anchor
Guests board in Olbia from 18.00 onward and settle into their cabins. After the skipper's welcome briefing, the boat leaves the marina for a short first crossing toward Capo Ceraso or a nearby sheltered bay. A relaxed swim, sunset views and the first dinner under the stars set the tone for the week.
Day 2
Caprera and the wild bays of La Maddalena
After breakfast, the route heads toward Caprera, sailing between turquoise shallows and sculpted granite. Typical anchorages include Cala Coticcio, Cala Napoletana or Porto Palma, depending on wind direction. The day alternates swimming, snorkeling, coastal walks and short scenic sails. Night at anchor in one of the park's quiet coves.
Day 3
Spargi, Budelli and the legendary pink hues of the archipelago
A short morning navigation leads to Spargi and its Caribbean atmosphere. Later, weather permitting, the boat reaches Budelli and the area around the famous Pink Beach (landing is restricted, but the lagoon is spectacular). Afternoon swim in Cala Connari or Cala Granara. Night at anchor between Budelli and Razzoli.
Day 4
Crossing to Corsica and arrival in Bonifacio
Today the yacht crosses the Bonifacio Strait, a stunning navigation between Sardinia and Corsica. Arrival at the entrance of Bonifacio, considered one of the most impressive harbors in the Mediterranean. Free time to explore the citadel, narrow medieval lanes, limestone cliffs and viewpoint terraces. Dinner ashore is optional. Night in port or in a nearby anchorage.
Day 5
Lavezzi Islands or Santa Manza, granite pools and nature reserve
From Bonifacio the boat moves to the Lavezzi Islands, a protected natural reserve known for crystal shallows, giant granite boulders and turquoise basins ideal for swimming. Depending on wind conditions, alternative anchorages include Isola Piana or Santa Manza. Afternoon sailing back toward the Maddalena group. Night at anchor.
Day 6
Razzoli and La Maddalena town
A relaxed morning in the northern archipelago, choosing anchorages based on the day’s breeze. Highlights may include Cala Lunga (Razzoli) or Cala Santa Maria. In the late afternoon the boat reaches La Maddalena town for a stroll, gelato, aperitivo or dinner in the small historic center. Night in roadstead or at the marina depending on plan and conditions.
Day 7
Return to Olbia through the Costa Smeralda
The final day includes a slow sail past the inlets of the Costa Smeralda, with time for a last swim in a sheltered spot such as Capriccioli or Cala di Volpe. The boat returns to Olbia by late afternoon. Farewell dinner on board and final briefing with the skipper. Disembarkation takes place the morning after by 09.00. Note: The itinerary may be adjusted by the skipper for safety, comfort or weather, without affecting the quality of the sailing experience. Anchorages may be visited in different order or replaced with valid alternatives.

What happens on a typical day on board ?
Every day will be quite different from the other, as the beauty of being on a boat is just this! No two days will be the same. The boat moves along an itinerary that is partly decided by the captain beforehand and partly influenced by the weather. Sometimes the boat will be anchored in a bay and sometimes moored in a marina. If you want to go on land, you will either be brought by the captain with the dinghy (a small rubber boat, with engine) or simply step down on the pontoon. Enjoying some local life, going on a shopping spree, eating in the local restaurants, participating in local activities (winery visits, trekking, biking, cooking classes and more) and generally sightseeing is a fundamental part of your sailing holiday just like swimming, sunbathing and relaxing on board in those moments when going to land will not be practical.
