Your sailing trip
Explore the Mergui Archipelago in Myanmar’s south sailing to the pristine Lampi National Marine Park and Macleod Island.
Lampi Islands, the biggest of all the islands and islaets of the Mergui Archipelago is the main area of the one marine national park in Myanmar and you will have the possibility to discover it in full as it is the fulcrum of our yacht cruise.
Home to more than a thousand species of animals, plants and marine life, many of which are rare and protected, Lampi Island, is overgrown with a tropical lowland wet evergreen forest in the interior, mangrove forest along rivers and fresh-water sources, and beach and dune forest along the coast. The forest is well provided for by the two rivers that cross Lampi Islands and sustain an immensurable number of lifeforms.
The only indigenous habitants of the Mergui Archipelago are the Moken, this people have adapted to their environment and developed incredible skills useful for a life lived partly underwater. THey are friendly people and we will have occasion to meet them in our sailing tour.
But our sailing holiday also includes a stop in Macleod Island, Za Det Gyi Island, Kyun Phi Lar Island, Bo Cho Island, Kyant Gyo Island and Kawthaung.

Yacht - Thomas E. Colvin, USA
Our flagship is called Meta IV. Designed by the naval architect Thomas E. Colvin, the vessel has a graceful shape and a robust hull. She is constituted entirely of Thai teak, one of the most used woods for building classic boats.
This Sailing Ketch was constructed in 1998 as a private yacht for a Swiss businessman who made his fortune in hotels. In 2010, the Austrian skipper Herbert Mayrhauser found her at a pier in Phuket and immediately fell in love. After two years of intensive restoration work and refitting, Meta IV started her new life as a luxury charter vessel in the fall of 2012.
She measures 85 feet in length or 25 metres. That's longer than the Santa Maria, the boat that Columbus sailed into history when he discovered the Americas. In fact, with all her space, you could almost forget you were holidaying on a yacht. The sheer size, and the facilities on board, make for a holiday getaway that your family or friends won't forget.

Travel organizer tips
If you are arriving from within Myanmar, you can book online and fly directly to Kawthaung Airport. We’d be more than happy to help you organise transportation and meet you at the airpor
Another option is to fly to Ranong Airport. There are daily flights from Bangkok by Nok Air. The airport is well served by local taxi drivers but we can also pick you up from Ranong Airport, of course.
Once you are in Ranong, you will take a longtail boat across the Pakchan River to Kawthaung on the Myanmar side, which takes about 30 minutes. We will help you with the immigration procedures before boarding the yacht.
Phuket International Airport is a convenient and well-connected place to fly to. From there, it’s a scenic 3 - 4-hour car ride to Ranong, the Thai border town. Here, too, we are happy to assist you.
No, there is no need to know how to sail, the crew will take care of it. But if you want you can participate in small boat manouvers and learn how to sail aboard. Though this is not a learning sailing cruise so it will not be an everyday experience. We want to you to relax and enjoy the experience in full.
Yes. Most travellers will get a visa- on-arrival in Myanmar and we will take care of the procedure when you enter the country while you relax or explore.
Yes, it is! There are no conflicts in our sailing area, nor are there any pirates. There is a mid- level malaria risk in
southern Myanmar and you should take precautions by using mosquito-repellent and wearing long sleeves and trousers if onshore at night (which you are unlikely to be much).
We think so. A few years things ago, things have started to fundamentally change in Myanmar and Aung San Suu Kyi has been released. She and her party now embrace individual and ethical tourism by travellers whose money does not go straight into the pockets of the generals. We are here to support just that.
You don’t need much. Bring your bathers, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, your camera and you’re pretty much set! It's best to also bring mosquito repellent and you may want to consider bringing anti-malaria tablets. Do remember to get a travel insurance before joining our cruise. On board, you won't need shoes but you can bring flip-flops or reef shoes for beach outings if you want. We provide full lodging, including
bedding, towels, all meals, water and soft drinks. We also provide fishing and snorkelling equipment and first-aid, if necessary.
season to go? The best time for sailing is between late October and end of April. The rainy season starts in May.
During daytime about 28-32°C. The water temperature will be about 26-29°C.
Our chefs specialise in Asian cuisine but also serve Western dishes. Six weeks prior to departure we ask all our guests about their preferences.
