Starting from Alimos Marina in Athens, this sailing itinerary explores part of the western and central Cyclades, combining longer sailing passages with quieter island stopovers and protected anchorages. The route is designed for sailors looking to experience the characteristic navigation of the Aegean Sea, where Meltemi winds, whitewashed villages and deep blue waters shape daily life onboard.
The itinerary moves gradually from the mainland towards the Cycladic islands, visiting destinations such as Kythnos, Syros, Mykonos and Kea before returning along the Attica coast. Sailing days alternate between open water crossings and shorter coastal passages, leaving time for swimming stops, seaside tavernas and evenings spent in traditional Greek ports.

Day1
Athens, Alimos Marina
Arrival at Alimos Marina in Athens for embarkation and check-in. After boarding, guests settle into the cabins, complete the provisioning and receive a navigation briefing before departure. Depending on the arrival time, the evening can be spent exploring the marina area or enjoying dinner onboard before the first sailing day.
Day2
Athens to Kythnos
The first navigation heads south across the Aegean towards Kythnos, one of the quieter islands of the western Cyclades. The crossing offers the first taste of open sea sailing with steady winds and wide coastal views. Upon arrival in Merichas or one of the nearby bays, there is time for swimming and a relaxed evening in a traditional harbour village known for its tavernas and calm atmosphere.
Day3
Kythnos to Syros
Navigation continues towards Syros, crossing deeper Cycladic waters with opportunities for sailing under stronger Meltemi winds during summer months. Arrival is usually planned in Finikas or Ermoupoli depending on weather conditions. Syros combines elegant neoclassical architecture with authentic island life, offering a different atmosphere from the more touristic Cycladic islands.
Day4
Syros to Mykonos
A shorter but scenic sailing passage leads to Mykonos. Along the route, conditions often allow for swimming stops in protected coves before reaching the island. Guests can spend the afternoon exploring the old town, walking along the waterfront and visiting the famous windmills, or simply relaxing onboard in one of the quieter bays away from the main harbour.
Day5
Mykonos to Kea
The return navigation begins with a longer offshore passage towards Kea. Depending on sea conditions, the route may include a stop for lunch and swimming in a sheltered bay. Kea offers a calmer and more traditional atmosphere compared to the central Cyclades, with small waterfront tavernas and relaxed evening walks along the harbour.
Day6
Kea to Cape Sounion
A shorter coastal sail leads back towards mainland Greece and Cape Sounion. The anchorage below the Temple of Poseidon is one of the most memorable stops of the itinerary, especially at sunset when the temple overlooks the cliffs above the sea. The evening is usually spent at anchor or in a nearby protected bay.
Day7
Cape Sounion to Athens, Alimos Marina
The final navigation returns to Alimos Marina with time for a last swim stop along the Attica coast depending on weather conditions. Arrival in Athens is planned in the afternoon for disembarkation and final checkout after the cruise.
