Your sailing trip
A small-group cabin charter sailing holiday from Preveza through the central Ionian Islands, with a professional skipper on board and evenings spent in waterfront tavernas.
The cruise departs from Preveza, on the mainland coast at the mouth of the Ambracian Gulf, and follows a circular route through the central Ionian Islands before returning to the same marina at the end of the week. The sailing area is known for its sheltered waters, green islands and steady summer breezes, with short daily legs that leave plenty of time to swim, relax and explore ashore.
Navigation is handled by a professional skipper, leaving guests free to relax on deck, enjoy the coastline or take part in sailing at their own level. The route is adapted each day to wind, sea state and the mood of the group, so no two weeks on this itinerary look exactly alike.
The first stretch leads through the Lefkada canal, a narrow channel cut across the island's northern tip, before opening onto the calm waters between Lefkada and Meganisi. Meganisi is a small, quiet island with deep inlets and peaceful villages such as Spartochori and Vathy, where tavernas sit right on the water. Across the channel, Ithaca offers the pretty harbor of Kioni, wrapped in cypress-covered hills and lined with restaurants and old stone houses.
The route then continues to Fiskardo, at the northern tip of Kefalonia, one of the few Ionian villages that kept its Venetian-style waterfront and pastel houses. From there the sail heads back towards the mainland, with a stop at the quiet island of Kalamos and the green, wooded bays of Sivota, before the return to Preveza.
Days settle into an easy rhythm: a morning swim, a relaxed sailing leg, lunch at anchor in clear water and an afternoon arrival in a harbor or village, followed by dinner at a waterfront taverna.

A spacious, comfortable cruising monohull with a wide cockpit, a fold-out bathing platform and bright interiors, made for easy days under sail and long evenings on deck.
Life on board revolves around the generous cockpit, where lift-and-lower tables turn the stern into a dining room for long, social meals. The bathing platform folds out for swimming straight from the boat and carries a grill, so every anchorage becomes a private beach club.
Inside, the saloon is modern and bright, with large windows, clever storage and a layout that keeps the galley and the dining area close together. Air conditioning in the saloon and in the cabins, together with a generator, makes warm summer nights easy to enjoy.
Below deck there are four double guest cabins with three shower toilets, plus separate cabins reserved for the crew. In total the boat has twelve berths, eight of them in the four guest cabins.
Under sail the boat is stable, forgiving and fun. The extra wide hull gives a steady ride, while the self-tacking jib, electric winches and twin steering wheels keep manoeuvres simple, so no previous sailing experience is needed to enjoy a week on board.

Pack smart for your yacht charter: choose a soft bag instead of a hard suitcase, bring lightweight layers, reef-safe sunscreen, and non-slip shoes for onboard use. A couple of swimsuits and motion sickness remedies can also make a big difference. Each boat has limited storage, so pack light, but wisely! Need help building the perfect list? Read our full guide: What to pack in a suitcase for a yacht charter
Start your day with a swim in a quiet bay, sail to hidden beaches or seaside villages, and enjoy a slow lunch on deck. Afternoons mean snorkeling, sunbathing, or exploring ashore. As the sun sets, your boat anchors in a scenic cove or near a harbor, ready for a relaxed dinner and a night under the stars. Curious about the full experience? Discover more in our guide: What's a typical day like on a sailing holiday?
On a crewed cabin charter like this one, the professional crew looks after navigation and the running of the boat, while dinners are usually taken ashore at local restaurants and are paid separately. Want to know more about how it works? Read the full guide: Who takes care of cooking and cleaning on a sailing charter?
When the sea gets rough, skippers adjust the route for your safety. Expect protected bays, marina stops, or a change in plan. These moments often lead to unexpected gems: local towns to explore, time to relax on board, or cozy dinners ashore. Curious about how crews handle these changes?
