Discover the southern Ionian Sea on a week-long sailing itinerary departing from Lefkada and exploring Meganisi, Ithaca, Kefalonia and Kastos. This route combines short daily passages, protected anchorages, authentic Greek island villages and some of the most reliable sailing conditions in the Mediterranean.
The southern Ionian Islands offer one of the most accessible and rewarding sailing regions in Greece. Sheltered waters, predictable summer winds and relatively short navigation distances allow a balanced combination of sailing, swimming and time ashore. Throughout the week, the route moves between forested islands, historic harbours, traditional fishing communities and secluded bays that are often accessible only by boat.
Starting from Lefkada, the itinerary follows a circular route through the heart of the Ionian archipelago. Guests experience the calm coves of Meganisi, the timeless atmosphere of Ithaca, the Venetian heritage of northern Kefalonia and the peaceful character of Kastos before returning north along the protected eastern coastline of Lefkada.
Summer navigation is typically influenced by the Maistros, a northwesterly thermal breeze that develops during the day and creates favourable sailing conditions without excessive sea state. Combined with numerous natural harbours and well-protected anchorages, these conditions make the area suitable for both first-time sailors and experienced cruising enthusiasts.

Day1
Lefkada Embarkation and Sail to Meganisi
Boarding takes place at Lefkada Marina during the afternoon. After check-in, cabin allocation and a welcome briefing, the yacht departs south through the Lefkada Canal, entering the sheltered waters of the central Ionian.
The first sailing leg leads to Meganisi, a green island known for its quiet bays, olive groves and traditional villages. Depending on weather and berth availability, the evening is spent in Vathi or Spartochori, both offering a relaxed waterfront atmosphere and panoramic views across the surrounding islands.
Day2
Meganisi to Ithaca
Following breakfast, the yacht leaves Meganisi and heads toward Ithaca, crossing a stretch of open water characterised by clear visibility and gentle summer sailing conditions.
The coastline of Ithaca gradually emerges with steep wooded slopes, hidden coves and deeply indented bays. Time is available for swimming and relaxing before entering one of the island's protected harbours.
The evening is spent in either Kioni or Vathi, two of the most attractive settlements in the Ionian Islands, where stone houses, fishing boats and waterfront cafés create a distinctly traditional Greek atmosphere.

Day3
Ithaca to Fiskardo, Kefalonia
A morning sail follows the eastern shoreline of Ithaca before crossing the channel separating the island from Kefalonia.
Arrival is planned in Fiskardo, one of the most recognisable sailing destinations in Greece. The harbour is lined with elegant Venetian buildings, colourful façades and waterside restaurants overlooking the marina basin. Unlike many towns in the region, Fiskardo preserved its historic architecture and remains one of the most picturesque ports in the Ionian Sea.
Guests can spend the afternoon exploring the harbour, walking coastal paths or enjoying a swim in the surrounding bays.

Day4
Northern Kefalonia and Coastal Anchorages
This day focuses on the northern coastline of Kefalonia, an area known for its limestone cliffs, turquoise waters and hidden anchorages.
The yacht navigates between secluded coves and quiet bays where conditions permit swimming, snorkelling and paddleboarding directly from the boat. Stops may include areas near Foki Bay, Afales and other sheltered inlets depending on weather conditions.
With no long passages planned, the day offers a slower pace and more time to enjoy the natural landscape of the island.

Day5
Kefalonia to Kastos
Leaving Kefalonia behind, the route turns north-east toward Kastos, one of the smallest inhabited islands in the Ionian archipelago.
The passage combines enjoyable sailing with opportunities to stop in clear offshore waters for swimming. Upon arrival, guests discover a peaceful harbour surrounded by whitewashed houses, fishing boats and traditional tavernas.
The absence of large-scale development has preserved the authentic character of the island, making it one of the quietest destinations along the itinerary.

Day6
Kastos to Eastern Lefkada
The return journey begins with a sail along the sheltered waters separating Lefkada from the Greek mainland.
Navigation includes stops in scenic anchorages such as Desimi Bay and the waters surrounding Skorpios Island. Pine-covered hills, calm seas and protected coves provide ideal conditions for swimming and relaxing during the final full day of the cruise.
As evening approaches, the yacht reaches a sheltered anchorage along the eastern coast of Lefkada.

Day7
Return to Lefkada Marina and Disembarkation
The final morning includes a short navigation back to Lefkada Marina.
After arriving at the base, guests enjoy their last evening onboard in the marina. Disembarkation takes place the following morning after breakfast according to the scheduled departure procedures.
